Tarot To Go – Weekly Sun Sign Tarot Tips (August 31 – September 5, 2010)

  • Posted on August 31, 2010 at 10:43 am

Here are your weekly Tarot Tips by Sun Sign.  For this feature, I am using traditional Western Sun signs of the zodiac, but if you’re curious what your Vedic Astrology Sun sign is, check out the Vedic Astrology Sun Signs page and compare.  If your Vedic Sun sign is different than your traditional Western sign, you might even see how both of the energies listed below could apply to you – or perhaps one may be more prominent for you than the other.

For everyone, keep in mind that we will be under the influence of Mercury Retrograde until Mercury goes direct again on September 12th.  So there can be some glitches, delays, setbacks, or problems in communication no matter what your sign is.

ARIES:  8 of Pentacles – Keep persevering, Aries, because things are lined up for great success.  If things have been troublesome, you can anticipate a change for the better this week.  Master your craft or trade.  Take yourself and your talents seriously, and plan for your long-term success.  The work you are doing now and what you are currently learning are all things that you can keep building on.  Your creative work now may be destiny that is waiting to be revealed!  This is an important time of conscious and deliberate growth.

TAURUS:  7 of Cups – It may not be best to go for what seems the most flashy or glamorous  this week, Taurus.  Choose with care.  Make your decisions wisely, because with this energy, things aren’t always what they seem to be on the surface!  This is not the time to trust things at face value or take something on blind faith.  Take a second look before coming to any firm conclusions or making any definite decisions.

GEMINI:  Knight of Wands – This is not a time to hang back or hide in the crowd, Gemini.  It’s your time to step forward decisively and with confidence.  The bottom line for you is to get on with it . . . do whatever it is that you’ve been wanting to do.  Take a chance.  Be spontaneous, and don’t’ be afraid to let yourself explore unchartered territory.

CANCER:  Reversed High Priestess – Your intuition may be trying to get your attention and tell you something, Cancer.  But are you listening?  Or are you being too emotional so that you can’t listen to that wise voice within yourself?  When you encounter a situation this week that seems fine on the surface, but a little voice within you tells you that there is a more complex story underneath it all . . . listen to those intuitive messages and continue with special care and caution in whatever you are doing.

LEO:  Page of Cups – A time to express yourself emotionally and get in touch with your inner child, Leo!  Pleasant messages may come your way this week – even messages of love.  Take time to play, do something fun, and enjoy life this week.  If you have children, spend quality time with them . . . and be sure to let the ones you love know how special they are to you!  Enjoy the love and happy, positive emotions that are available for you this week.  If you don’t think they are really there . . . look again, as you can be pleasantly surprised at the blessings around you.

VIRGO:  3 of Wands – Look ahead, Virgo, as bright things are on your horizon!  This is a week of making gains and achievements.  It’s a time for successful completions and rewards for your accomplishments.  Your ships are coming in, Virgo!  You have the power to bring about your heart’s desire.  Help is available if you need it.  Trust that your ideas can be realized, and expect the best this week.

LIBRA:  The Hermit – This may be an introspective week for you, Libra.  It can be a time of learning and/or teaching.  Know that you can be a teacher and a student at the very same time in life.  Trust yourself and rely on your inner wisdom.  If you are searching for answers, you are likely to find them this week.  Quiet your mind, find your calm center, and you will also be amazed at the answers you already hold within yourself.

SCORPIO:  10 of Pentacles – A stable time of abundance and prosperity.  You have the means to take care of your needs as well as those of your family.    Rest in the security of having enough – and probably some extra to spare this week.  All things will come in time, and it is important now to trust the process that will get you where you wish to be.  A fading attachment to the past will also give you opportunity to grow and mature as you are meant to.  You are well on your way and can enjoy the stability that this card’s energy offers you.

SAGITTARIUS:  The World – Expect a significant change for the better, Sagittarius.  You are in a position to realize your heart’s desire.  What that is for you personally depends on your situation . . . but this wonderful energy always feels great!  The World is a symbol of active contribution, participation, and service.  To “hold the world in your hands,” you must give of yourself to it.  That is the source of true happiness.  You will get back what you give out.

CAPRICORN:  The Star – Wish upon a star, Capricorn, because wishes and dreams CAN come true!  Things may work out for you better than expected this week, allowing your faith to burn brightly once again.  Better times are heading your way, especially if you have experienced any troubled situations lately – and this can arise through positive attitudes and creative solutions to problems.  There is light at the end of the tunnel.

AQUARIUS:  7 of Wands – Don’t be afraid of challenges this week, because you actually hold a position of advantage and are up to any challenges that you will face. Direct your energy toward accomplishment.  If you have a lot going on, break things down into smaller steps so that you don’t feel overwhelmed.  Expect to win, and you probably will!  A good strategy is to tackle one problem at a time . . . and don’t go to “battle” unless you truly feel it’s a “war” worth fighting.

PISCES:  2 of Wands – Take the time to explore new options, solutions, or endeavors of interest.  Taking on a new challenge will not set you back as long as you plan properly.  While you will have to work hard on something of importance, your ideas hold much potential.  Take charge of your life and set your ships to sail.  If you do, you can expect them to return with the rewards you seek – the rewards you will deserve because of your hard work, effort, and attention.

Have a fantastic week!

Tarot To Go – Weekly Sun Sign Tarot Tips (August 23 – 29)

  • Posted on August 23, 2010 at 7:23 pm

Here are your weekly Tarot Tips by Sun Sign.  For this feature, I am using traditional Western Sun signs of the zodiac, but if you’re curious what your Vedic Astrology Sun sign is, check out the Vedic Astrology Sun Signs page and compare.  If your Vedic Sun sign is different than your traditional Western sign, you might even see how both of the energies listed below could apply to you – or perhaps one may be more prominent for you than the other.

ARIES:  Reversed Wheel of Fortune – You may encounter delays and setbacks this week.  You may feel like you are spinning your wheels but not making progress or getting where you want to be.  Things are generally not going your way with this reversed energy.  It’s the kind of energy that can make you feel that if not for “bad luck,” you would have no luck at all.  This is a downward cycle of events, but remember that the Wheel keeps on turning.  So be patient with your situation until the energy rights itself and presents better opportunities and circumstances for you.

TAURUS:  8 of Wands – A conclusion or resolution is fast approaching.  If things have felt stuck or stalled, those delays are coming to an end.  You’ve got the green light to take action and move forward.  You’re going in the right direction.  A change for the better is on its way, and you can expect good news or positive messages coming to your attention.

GEMINI:  High Priestess – Rather than taking action, it’s a time for you to hold back and wait for new information to be revealed to you.  Listen to your intuition and trust what your feelings are telling you at this time.  This is a time for you to rethink a situation, listen carefully to your intuition, and wait for things to unfold a bit more before taking definite action or making a firm decision.  You may need more solid information to make good choices, and only time will provide that to you. Be patient at this time.

CANCER:  4 of Wands – Enjoy an outing or get-together with friends or family.  You might have reason to celebrate something that has been productive and successful this week!  Teamwork is important this week, because you can accomplish more with others in a cooperative environment than what you could do by yourself.  Look around and acknowledge all that you have in your life that makes you feel happy and blessed.

LEO:  Hanged Man – It’s a time for patience, balance, and moderation.  Don’t try to push too hard for one outcome or another.  Sometimes you have to quietly step back and let things work themselves out for awhile.  Have an open mind and be flexible and cooperative in situations.  Pace yourself moderately.  This is not a time to overdo.

VIRGO:  9 of Cups – Something you wish for may come true – or at least, events are likely to align themselves in such a way that you can be pleased with the results, even if the final outcome is a little different than you originally intended.  There is something for you to be pleased about this week.  Happiness, abundance, and accomplishment are the major themes for you to enjoy this week.  This is a time to make a wish . . . and to know that wishes CAN come true!

LIBRA:  7 of Pentacles – This is a time to assess your situation to ensure that you are on track for what you’re trying to accomplish.  You may find that something is not quite turning out how you planned, and this time of review is important to realign your goals — especially if you have needs that have changed since you first started a project or endeavor.  There is a need to be patient with results.  Something may still remain “unfinished” at this point and may need a lot more work to turn out the way you want it to.  Recognize your priorities and decide what needs your attention first.  Learn from mistakes, but never give up too soon!

SCORPIO:  6 of Swords – A conflict is coming to an end, which brings you more peace.  There is a sense of relief with this energy.  For now, it’s a time to put aside troubles and anxieties and just enjoy and appreciate all that you have to be thankful for.  Help may come to you from unexpected sources this week as well.

SAGITTARIUS:  Page of Cups – This would be a great time for you to explore creative or imaginative ideas, engage in hobbies, or do something that is emotionally fulfilling to you.  A message of love or romance may come your way.  It’s a time for expressing your feelings and showing your loved ones that you care.  Take the time to play, have some fun, be creative, and find joy in your life this week.

CAPRICORN:  3 of Cups – Happiness, fun, and celebrations!  Spend time with people you love.  Celebrate life, and enjoy yourself.  This energy offers you upliftment and a chance to enjoy to some carefree time in the company of others.  Eat, drink, and be merry. Enjoy yourself, but don’t overindulge.  Know your limits and observe them.

AQUARIUS:  Death – Something may be changing or uprooting you from your normal way of life or regular routines.  Ultimately, you may come to realize that you can actually feel free with the change, rather than trapped or burdened.  Know how and when to let go of old attachments and entanglements.  Welcome what change can bring to you – even if things initially feel like your world is being turned upside down.  It will get better!  Give it time.

PISCES:  4 of Swords – This is a week to regroup and collect your bearings.  You may get a break from some kind of struggle or conflict.  A “time out” will give you opportunity to strategize, plan, or rethink things in a calmer manner.  Remove yourself from the foray of battles, action, or stress inducers. Give yourself a chance to recharge your energy so that you can be at your best when it’s time to get back into action.  Let things be for a little while.  Step back, find your calm center, and think about your next strategy before taking further action on a matter.

Have a fantastic week!

Tarot Tuesday – August 17th, 2010

  • Posted on August 17, 2010 at 9:06 am

This week’s question is from Arabian Tiger  “Am thinking to (maybe) relocate to the United States by next year 2011 to continue my studying (PHD); I have many options for locations as well as universities and so far am seeing that California might be my preferred location to choose a university. I guess the question is: Will it be the best location to relocate to pursue my PHD? “

Cards Drawn:  The Empress – Page of Wands – Temperance

This trio of cards is giving you a big thumbs up to relocate to the United States for your educational pursuits!  I drew this set of cards in an “asset – liability – answer “ format, with the first card to show us an asset or strength, the second card to show us a liability or weakness, and the final card as the overall answer of your question.  The Empress is definitely an asset and strength.  She is filled with abundance and productive enterprises in her energy.  She invites you to give birth to your idea and dream.  Your educational pursuits can bring you much satisfaction and pleasure.  This is a very supportive energy that helps you do the things that will take care of yourself now and into the future!

The Page of Wands in the position of a liability or weakness is actually a good card for this position, because the upright Page is not truly a weakness, but in this position it would point out things that can be helpful to you that you may not have been aware of previously.  (If something good is out there, but we don’t know about it, that can serve as a liability to our situation.)  Pages are like the student cards, and with this card coming up here, it would be in your best interests to thoroughly explore the various colleges and make sure that you are not overlooking any potential opportunities for consideration.  Attending a college in the USA will also mean that you must relocate and uproot yourself, but it sounds like you are up for that!  This, too, is a card of movement, travel, and opportunities in front of you!  You can learn and have fun doing it!  Because the Page is considered young and not as mature as the Knight or the King, it’s important to follow through on what you want to do.  Attending college in the United States is only a real opportunity if you actually follow through and pursue that.  Ensure that this is not merely an impulsive idea, as you want to be focused on what can be productive for you in your life.  And the cards are certainly telling us this can be a very productive and adventurous opportunity for you.

Temperance comes up to render an overall answer after considering the previous two cards.  Temperance is a card of balance and moderation.  It suggests combining things that are opposites in order to create synthesis and balance . . . and moving from one country into the USA to pursue your education is a great example of Temperance.  It allows for a blending of cultures that can bring you the promise of abundance from the Empress’ energy while you are an enthusiastic and inspiring student like the Page of Wands!  The cards give you a definite yes for your question about relocating to pursue your PHD.

Many Blessings!

Each Tuesday I will do a Quick Insight Tarot Reading to address one question sent in by the readers of my blog.  If you would like to see your question featured here on “Tarot Tuesdays,” please send your question and date of birth to velvetangel@tarotwisdomreadings.com with Tarot Tuesday in the subject line.  You are free to use an alias name of your choice if you wish not to use your real name for this post. Date of birth is actually optional, but I use the numerical value of your birth date to show me where to cut the cards after shuffling (even though I will not post your date of birth) – but again, it’s optional, and I can still do a reading without that information if you prefer not to reveal it.

Please keep in mind that I cannot guarantee inclusion of your question, as I’ll be pulling just one each Tuesday, but if your question is not of a time-sensitive nature, I’ll leave it up for grabs for the next week to possibly be pulled.

Tarot To Go – Weekly Sun Sign Tarot Tips (August 16 – 22)

  • Posted on August 16, 2010 at 9:51 am

Here are your weekly Tarot Tips by Sun Sign.  For this feature, I am using traditional Western Sun signs of the zodiac, but if you’re curious what your Vedic Astrology Sun sign is, check out the Vedic Astrology Sun Signs page and compare.  If your Vedic Sun sign is different than your traditional Western sign, you might even see how both of the energies listed below could apply to you – or perhaps one may be more prominent for you than the other.

ARIES:  3 of Wands – Your ships are coming in!  Help and cooperation are available to assist you in accomplishing what you’ve set out to do.  This is a time of productivity, progress, teamwork, and taking action with dynamic energy that brings about significant results.  You are pushing toward an important goal, and if you continue on your present path, you are going to arrive at your destination very soon.

TAURUS:  Death – Significant change may be coming to your attention, Taurus.  Don’t fight the process of change, for that only makes things harder.  Welcome what change can bring to you, even if things initially feel like your world has been turned upside down.  It will get better!  Just give it time and don’t resist the need for changes in your life.

GEMINI:  Queen of Swords – This is a time to be disciplined, objective, and honest in all your dealings.  Stand up for yourself, and be assertive as needed.  Even if you have been hurt in the past, Gemini, let the experience make you stronger rather than bitter or resentful.  Make important decisions for yourself, because you are the final judge.  This is not the time for procrastination or excuses.  Think positively and use your imagination to start creating what you want.

CANCER:  4 of Cups – An opportunity could be presented that can help you find more fulfillment in life, but perhaps you may not feel excited about it – perhaps not truly believing it could have the value that you would like to believe in.  Don’t get so caught up in depression, apathy, or boredom that you miss out on an opportunity or gift that might be coming your way.  Reconsider ideas or things you might have once rejected.  Take a second look and see if perhaps what you originally rejected or you feel that you may not want . . . just might be the very key to your ability to rediscover a sense of purpose and fulfillment in life.

LEO:  2 of Wands – Leo, it’s important to take the time for planning before you dive right into something.  You may be eager, but planning and strategizing now can help you.  Cooperation with others is important at this time, as this will create a balancing force between your desires and ambitions and those of others.  Consider alternative paths to clarify your future direction.  Evaluate your needs, analyze your situation, and then prepare for appropriate action.

VIRGO:  Queen of Cups – A nurturing energy is available to you, Virgo.  Outcomes are often favorable with this Queen, so positive, loving vibrations surround you now.  If you are seeking answers, the guidance you need will come to you.  Some kind of appreciable reward or event is likely to take place, even if you don’t get it right this minute.

LIBRA:  5 of Swords – You may come up against negative or vindictive people this week.  Even if you try to be nice, they might not reciprocate in kind.  This is not what you need to engage in, so walk away from it if you encounter this.  This is also not a good time to get caught up in gossip.  Additionally, don’t share your confidences or secrets with someone that you have even the slightest doubt about trusting.

SCORPIO:  10 of Pentacles – Focus on the long-term.  Work for lasting solutions rather than just quick fixes.  A good time to focus on family and be generous with loved ones.  Appreciate what you have. Count your blessings, and look beyond just the material.  This is a time of getting your needs met, and perhaps helping others get theirs met as well.

SAGITTARIUS:  2 of Pentacles – You may have a lot of things to juggle this week, Sagittarius.  A lot may demand your time and attention, but you’ve got it in you to handle everything. Be flexible, and know that sometimes a side step or even a backward step is the surest way forward!  Keeping the faith in the face of uncertainty or doubt is an ability that will serve you well at this time.

CAPRICORN:  7 of Cups – You may have choices in front of you this week, Capricorn, and you feel uncertain about what to choose.  Be very clear about what is being offered to you.  Evaluate the pros and cons of your options.  While it’s always fun to indulge in daydreaming, this can also be an inspiration for action.  At some point, it will become necessary to abandon your “castles in the sky” and begin to build those castles in real life.  Watch out for procrastination this week.  You need to stop putting things off and get down to the business that is calling out to you.

AQUARIUS:  Reversed 10 of Swords – You may be starting over on some level, Aquarius, and the direction you are going is probably different than your original destination.  Something has had to change, and making that adjustment hasn’t been easy.  Even now, you are still coping with these life changes.  But you are getting there!  Try to keep an open mind, position yourself for a better point of view, and get ready for a fresh start in a new direction.

PISCES:  Knight of Wands – Take a chance.  Allow yourself to be spontaneous and make some last minute decisions, Pisces.  This is not a time to hang back or hide in the crowd.  It’s a time to step forward with enthusiasm and confidence.  The bottom line is to get on with it . . . do whatever it is you’ve been wanting to do.  Go for it!

Have a fantastic week!

Tarot Tuesday – August 10th, 2010

  • Posted on August 10, 2010 at 2:31 pm

This week’s question is from “Curious Mom”:  “A few years ago I went through a long, difficult divorce.  The situation was not only hard on me, but also incredibly hard on my two young children.  At this point they share their time between my house and their father’s house.  Shortly after the divorce was final, their father moved his girlfriend and her young child into his house.  Both of my children have struggled with this situation, however it has always been hardest on my younger child, my daughter.  At only 8 she has developed an anger management problem, making it very difficult to handle her when she is coping with what she perceives as a stressful or upsetting situation (essentially any situation where she is not getting attention, her way or she’s upset or thinks you will be about what is going on).  Recently I have started her in therapy in attempt to have another person assist me in teaching her life coping skills.  I worry that I’m not doing enough, that I’m not patient enough, and I am wondering if there is more I can do to ease the stress she feels from our day-to-day living situation.  Please ask the cards to guide me in knowing if I am doing enough for my daughter (both my children as appropriate) or if there is more I should do or be aware of, to either help them cope, or change the situation.”

Cards Drawn:  7 of Swords – 7 of Cups – Ace of Swords

Two of the three cards drawn are the number 7.  Seven is a spiritual number, referring to things that can’t necessarily be seen, but still exist nevertheless – including what resides within the realm of feelings.  It is also a number that refers to respite, introspection, contemplation, evaluation, pondering choices, sorting out options . . . and soul development as well.  Your children, and your daughter especially, seem to be working out just who they are and what their place in the world is all about.  And it can be really confusing for a child, especially with the 7 of Swords that comes along and takes away what they have grown comfortable and familiar with.  Change can be difficult, but sometimes change is ultimately for the best – even when one is unable to see that initially.

The theme of choice is prominent here. The Seven of Cups is about choices that can be confusing.  It is great that you have got your daughter into therapy, as this can be helpful to her in learning how to cope – and perhaps learning how she does have choices in how she will react to things as well.  The Ace of Swords suggests a breakthrough and new beginnings for your children.  I think you are truly doing all you can – you are not lacking in attending to their well being.  Much of this seems based on the center card of emotions and choices, and perhaps something you can help your daughter with is to teach her about the choices we have in life – even to the point of choosing how we will feel about something.  And if you are offering her choices in daily living, she can learn about responsible choices as well – along with the fact that while she can’t have a say about everything, there are things she can have a say about.  She seems to be in an important phase of growth that involves learning who she is in life.  She may have once believed that what was taken from her, in terms of how she perceived things initially with the divorce, would eventually come back so that life would go back as it was before.  This is the part that can be really difficult for children, as in their minds, they believe that somehow everything will eventually resume to “normal.”  It can be difficult for them to separate what is illusion from what is reality at times.

Change can be unsettling for anyone of any age . . . but it can take time to also see how difficult changes are ultimately for the best for everyone involved.  She seems to be at a point of trying to sort out a myriad of emotions – all a part of her personal development.  This takes time, but the Ace of Swords indicates an upcoming victory as well – and perhaps you can celebrate even the small victories of her accomplishments with her, letting her know when you are proud of her for making good decisions about how she reacts and feels about things.  I’m sure you are already doing this, and just know that you are doing all you can for your children.  Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, so we always have to do the best we can.  Don’t feel that you are lacking in your job as a parent.  Be sure to give yourself credit here, just as you will do for your children when you see them making good choices.

Best Wishes and Many Blessings!

August 2010 Tarot-Scopes

  • Posted on August 5, 2010 at 5:42 pm

August 2010 Tarot-Scopes from Velvet Angel

For the monthly Tarot-Scopes, I am using traditional Western Sun signs of the zodiac, but if you’re curious what your Vedic Astrology Sun sign is, check out the Vedic Astrology Sun Signs page and compare.  If your Vedic Sun sign is different than your traditional Western sign, you might even see how both of the energies listed below could apply to you – or perhaps one may be more prominent for you than the other.

For this month, I am using Pamela Steele’s gorgeous “Steele Wizard” Tarot – the featured Tarot Deck of the Month at Tarot Wisdom Readings.  You can learn more about this deck by visiting http://www.tarotwisdomreadings.com/TarotDecks3/SteeleWizard.html, or you can visit the author’s site at http://www.steelewizard.com for additional information and to purchase this deck if you are interested in owning a copy of this deck.

ARIES:  King of Pentacles

Things are usually steady, solid, and dependable with the King of Pentacles energy.  Something you have been giving attention to for awhile or have been involved in may start producing some very rewarding results.

You may have the opportunity to create something magnificent, but you need to be patient and persevere.  What you are working on may not come immediately or offer fast results, as the Pentacles energy of the Tarot is a slower moving energy.  However, the potential for success is strong, especially if you are focusing on values instead of just profit and expansion.  Pay attention to details this month, and let your priority be quality versus quantity.

Be practical and down-to-earth.  The only road to true success is the path that involves effort and care on your part, so avoid any get-rich-quick schemes that may come your way.  The road of hard work, diligence, and patience is not always an easy road, but the rewards are certainly worth the commitment and hard work it takes to get there!

This card is about being successful and often speaks of success on physical, financial, and material levels.  It’s about having the right values and applying those values for success.  It’s about taking care of your own physical well-being, finances, professional directions, and making contributions for yourself and others that will not be just for the present, but are meant to take you into the future as well.  This King asks you to make present and future security a priority.

TAURUS:  Five of Pentacles

The Five of Pentacles can portray situations of rejection or lack of acceptance.  You may feel excluded from a certain group that you wanted to be a part of.  Human nature has a desire to be included for mutual support and emotional well-being.  You may feel that you don’t “fit in” or belong.  This is most common when one has moved or changed schools or jobs.  You may be in a new environment and have no friends yet, feeling like an outsider to the rest of the world.

With the Five of Pentacles energy, you probably have come to a time in which you aren’t feeling too good about yourself and life in general.  Things in your life may seem to be falling apart — home, family, friendships, jobs, money, etc.  Something important to you may be changing, and the changes are not welcome ones.  The stress that can come with this can also cause emotional and/or physical health to fail.  In some way, life as you knew it may no longer exist in the same way.  You may not know right now how you are going to get back on track, because things feel so rough right now.

The first thing to do in any situation of hardship is to work at fighting off the depression that wants to take over.  You may need to swallow your pride and ask for help.  You may have friends with whom you can talk, or there may be a support group that would be of help to you.  Many times, even a perfect stranger will help if they know you are truly in need.  If the problem you are facing is a financial one, it’s time to get to work on that problem.  It is possible you may need to take a second job or work overtime hours if available.  Few people will like the idea of overtime, or especially a second job, but no matter how bad the situation might seem right now, it will pass so that you can once again see light at the end of the tunnel to guide you out of whatever hard times you are enduring.  You do have to make an effort for it, but with that effort — and possibly some help from others — you’ll get to the other side of the situation and into better times.

GEMINI:  Maiden of Pentacles

Gemini, you’ve got some potentials within you that need to be acknowledged.  The Maiden of Pentacles is asking you to live up to your potential.  This is a time to be responsible and focus on information, learning, and the wisdom that can help you on your path.  Is there something you have wanted to study or learn?  If so, this is a card that encourages you to get started.  Take responsibility for what you want, and know that your willing effort and dedication will determine just how much you get out of life.

Don’t focus on perceived limitations.  Focus on what you can be doing to fulfill a goal or a dream.  Perhaps you wish to change jobs or career . . . or even go back to school to learn a new trade.  It’s time to get involved and commit to a task or cause that means something to you.

Every situation can offer practical lessons, and thus, you may have an opportunity to learn by doing this month.  Don’t be afraid to make mistakes, for that is a part of the learning process.  Be willing to work hard, and take risks responsibly.  In doing so, you may discover the hidden talents within yourself . . . or at least discover the “drive” within you that can help propel you toward the achievement of your ideals.

Jump right into a new situation, and learn as you go.  Commit to making the effort to persevere through whatever task or situation is in front of you.  Let this month be a time for self-discovery as you become more aware of the potentials you hold within yourself – the ones you might already know about, and even the ones you might not have considered before.

CANCER:  Five of Cups

Issues during the month could prove to be emotionally draining ones, dear Cancer.  You may be dealing with a broken relationship, job loss or struggles, friendship issues, or some other kind of emotional upheaval or grief.  With this energy, your feelings may be hurt, confused, tangled, and depressed.  What appeared to be a stable and positive element in your life . . . could leave you disappointed, let down, and even broken hearted.

Though it’s difficult to do when you are faced with the turmoil and emotional upheaval of this card’s energy, you are still reminded to count your blessings.  All is not lost — even though it can seem like it at the time you are dealing with whatever hardship is present.  But give yourself some time, and things will get better.  Time is the best healing potion there is!

Despite the losses that could come with the appearance of this card, it is still important to be thankful for that which remains.  Even in the worst of situations, if you look hard enough, you will find something left that you can build on for the future.  Use that to start over and make a new beginning for yourself no matter what area of your life it’s in — whether it is work, relationships, family situations, financial issues . . . or anything.  It is said that there is no use “crying over spilled milk”, and this card would agree with that statement.  If you can’t get back what has been lost, then you need to work with what is left and move on.  Additionally, if you only look at a glass as being “half empty”, then you’ve failed to realize the importance and value of what is left.  Why not see it as being “half full”, with potential to use that and create something more from what remains?

 LEO:  I AM

The “I AM” card is an additional Major card in the Steele Wizard Tarot.  For you, Leo, this card is a reminder that your power lies within yourself.  Your power need not be dependent on people or situations outside of yourself.  Acknowledge yourself this month, and don’t feel like you should deny your authentic self to the world around you!

While you are a wonderful and unique individual, Leo, you are also a part of the Whole as well.  Look at who you are and what you are.  This is a card that would ask you to examine yourself – what are you attitudes, beliefs, and philosophies?  While your thoughts may not always mesh with those of others, they will certainly mesh with someone.  You don’t have to be a follower – be the leader that you are, Leo!

Perhaps, as human beings, we don’t take the time to contemplate the question, “Who am I?”  But with this card coming up for you, Leo, it seems to be a good month to try to answer that question through some self-exploration and soul-searching.  Find yourself.  Know who you are.  Believe in who you are and what you want to become.  You’ve got a lot of potential, so consider what you are striving to do and what you will become in the process.

VIRGO:  Four of Swords

The Four of Swords tells you that the time has come for rest and relaxation, Virgo.  You may need that desperately right now, especially if you have recently experienced a great deal of stress.  It’s time to take a deep breath and claim a moment of peace and quiet for yourself — a time where you can put your worries aside and think about nothing for a little while.  This card offers the opportunity to regroup and find a calm center once again.  It’s a chance to find some rest, both physically and mentally, and to regain a sense of balance in your daily world.

You may have a lot on your mind, and the Four of Swords is a calmer energy that gives you a chance to take the time to think things over without being in a hurry.  At least, that is what you need to do at this time.  We don’t always do what we need to do in life, and it seems there is always one good excuse or another for not doing what is best for us.  For now, it is important to step back and gain perspective about things, because the “battles” are not over yet.  You are just getting a temporary reprieve from some problems and struggles.  You need some time for quiet preparation to recharge your energy so that you can be strong and at your best when it’s time to get back into action.  Especially if you are facing a big ordeal or event, you need to be as strong and mentally alert as you can.  So now is your call to take a break so that you will be prepared for whatever comes next.  The only way to bring the best to your endeavors is to pause before you jump into something.

This is one of the cards in the Tarot that asks you to just let things be for a little while.  Rather than taking action at this time, the focus should be on how you are using your mind and working with information so that you can come up with workable solutions for whatever dilemma might still remain unsolved.  Let things ride for a bit and see what develops.  This is a time to let yourself be as mellow as you can.  Don’t let petty things get to you.  It won’t be worth making waves over the “small stuff.”  This is a time to avoid engaging yourself in any “fights” or arguments.  In fact, you may fare best to just keep a low profile for the time being.  Let this be a time of truce, and for the moment, just let sleeping dogs lie.  Get some rest (you probably need that very much), and tomorrow you may see things from a new perspective.

LIBRA:  Queen of Pentacles

The Queen of Pentacles can signify that you will be looking at issues of stability and security in your life this month.  Stability is a desired concept for any aspect of life, whether it’s work, money issues, relationships, health, family, friends, or anything else that comes up.  You want stability; you want to feel secure . . . because these are essential things to have in life to help you live a happy and prosperous life — to seek and experience the abundance in areas of your life that may have been especially problematic for you at some point.  And to put it simply . . . you just feel a whole lot more at ease when you feel secure, safe, and stable.

Trust the forces that have taken care of you up to this point.  Continue to express your truth without worrying that you’ll lose the roof over your head or the bed you sleep in.  The Queen of Pentacles indicates that it is your destiny and karma to be safe and sound at this time in your life.  Take a sensible approach to matters, and you will note steady progress.  Let people count on you during tough times.  Be generous, sensible, and true to your world.  Help or inspire others to reach their potential.  At this time, you can use your wealth and abilities to empower yourself and others.  The richness of your life can be found in your family, friends, and through life experiences.  Make a point to increase your own personal richness by giving something back this month.  Remember to give a hug to someone you care about . . . or to someone who could use one.  Nurturing and supporting others not only empowers them, but empowers you as well.

If you are encountering problems at this time, it may be that a problem which appears to be a “mountain” may turn out to just be a “molehill.”  Things are probably not as bad as they might seem, and with this Queen, you can expect some improvements in the area of life that you most need them.

SCORPIO:  Seven of Pentacles

This is a time to be patient, dear Scorpio.  It’s a time to pause, assess, and reconsider your activities and accomplishments to date.  The Seven of Pentacles is often called the card of the “unfulfilled harvest.”  This can mean that you have arrived at a place where you thought you wanted to be, only to discover that what you’ve accomplished isn’t what will make you happy . . . or you don’t feel that your accomplishments are enough.  There can be a sense of unfulfillment with this card, but often it’s because there is still more work to be done!  You may realize that the true goal is going to take additional work and a need to refocus on something else that you may not have considered especially important before now.  Some of the considerations may include your inner goals, spiritual values, or personal satisfaction.  It won’t be just about monetary rewards and professional prestige that you’ll have a need to review.

One needs to be patient during a time of assessment.  Growth cannot happen overnight, as much as we sometimes wish it could.  As you look at the progress of an endeavor, you can make a choice to be pleased with what you find so far . . . or you can dwell on all that still remains to be done.  Your efforts will show you where change is needed and what you need to do next in your projects or other life situations.  Many times when this card comes up, it is showing how we fail to see what is good.  We are too busy dwelling on the things that haven’t gone the way we expected . . . or the things that are still unfinished.  The Seven of Pentacles encourages you to acknowledge your efforts and accomplishments, no matter how small they may seem!  Things are probably not as despairing as they may first appear.  Certainly when this card makes its appearance, there is still a lot more to be done . . . but if you only focus on all that is yet unfinished, that kind of thinking can let you down in such a way that you want to just give up.

Make sure that you are not giving up too soon.  Even if you are feeling sorry for yourself and unable to carry on with a project, it’s necessary to evaluate things rationally to see where you really stand.  If you want “more,” this card tells you that you’ll need to “do more.”  Inactivity can lead to lost opportunities at this time.  You do need to take a time out for purposes of assessment, but this will not be the time to “rest on your laurels.”  Just as the old adage says, “you will reap what you sow.”  If your “harvest” is not what you expected, it’s time to reconsider your strategies.  Determine where you went wrong and resolve not to make the same mistakes again.

SAGITTARIUS:  Three of Pentacles

The Three of Pentacles is a very productive energy, and is one of accomplishment and success.  It shows that you are serious about what you want to achieve.  You are using your skills and talents wisely and building something of value.  If you’re not . . . then you should be!  This is about being sensible and making something definite happen.  There is tangible progress in this energy.  It involves being persistent, being clear on your priorities, and sticking to the commitments that you want to finish.  In simple terms, this is about “taking care of business” in a practical, level-headed manner.  It represents the growth which is possible through solid foundations.

The Three of Pentacles is about creating practical results.  Your efforts now can bring you reward.  Doing a good job is essential at this time.  Your work may be very impressive and get the attention that it deserves.  You are standing on your own two feet and have reason to be proud of your accomplishments so far.  There is cooperation and coordination with others.  There is also acceptance in this card, so it can imply that you are being accepted into a group, club, or some organization.  There is a balance between work, social life, family, and spiritual responsibilities with the Three of Pentacles.  Activities pertaining to work or career goals may also be significant at this time.

Practical concerns may have your attention at this time.  It’s a time to be grounded, firm, and realistic about what you want and what you will do to create this.  Being clear on your priorities and commitments will be of help to you at this time.  Know which values you want to satisfy with your efforts, and what your final objective is.  Persistence is an important key to accomplishing that which you’ve set out to do.  This can be a “nose to the grindstone” kind of situation as you focus on taking care of business and doing what you need to do.  But this is also an attitude that will ensure you will reach success in your endeavors.  Having the determination to do what it takes to reach an important goal can accomplish more than half the job all on its own!

CAPRICORN:  Reversed Maiden of Wands

The Reversed Maiden of Wands has come up for you, Capricorn.  This is an indication that you may not be utilizing the resources that are available to you.  You may be dealing with a lack of inspiration or a lack of ideas on a project.  Things can feel at a standstill.  Perhaps you need to take a step back and see where you need to start over or what needs to be renewed in your situation.

Issues of immaturity could also arise with this Reversed Maiden.  Beware of anyone who likes to create or stir up drama – possibly for the purpose of gaining unnecessary and negative attention for herself.  You may find yourself dealing with someone who is shallow and superficial.  Watch out for those who may pretend to be your friend only because they want something from you.  Don’t count on promises to be kept at this time, because it’s possible that someone will not follow through on a promise or a commitment.

Plans this month could meet up with some delays, as this reversed energy can be unproductive.  Goals might not progress as planned.  Something may be blocking you.  Your own self-confidence and ambition can also suffer due to such delays or setbacks.

With this reversed energy, consider that if you’re not getting the respect you deserve from others . . . perhaps you are not adequately respecting yourself to begin with.

AQUARIUS:  Six of Swords

If you’ve been through a trying and stressful time lately, the Six of Swords indicates that you can expect the release of tensions as you enter into a calmer period this month.  Things may settle down so that you are more centered.  You may feel a sense of restored peace and harmony as you finally let yourself relax a bit.  Enjoy this peace of mind, because this is a month where the “waters” of life should indeed be calmer.  You may see things more clearly now, and approaching situations from a calm state of being is what helps us to deal with problems more effectively.

Enjoy this time of peace while you have it, because this card and its calming effects can also be a time of transition between one obstacle and another one yet to conquer.  This is the kind of energy that can be viewed as the “calm before the storm.”  But at least for now, it’s a time to put aside troubles and anxieties and just enjoy and appreciate all that you have to be thankful for.

Overall, life itself may seem brighter this month.  With your new outlook, you find a sense of restored harmony.  This better frame of mind allows you to solve problems by looking at them from a new angle.  At the very least, you will be able to think about things rationally and differently.  Being able to think your way through a decision or dilemma is a lot more comfortable than the confused frustration that you may have been dealing with lately.  You may now have a better understanding of your situation right now . . . as if the “light” just came on.  Take heart, because more lights are sure to follow, even if there are first more obstacles to conquer.  You are, at least, on your way and heading in a better direction . . . something that might not have been available to you for a long time.

PISCES:  Three of Cups

Friendships and relationships may be significant for you this month.  You may find yourself surrounded by many loving and supportive friends where everyone participates on an emotional level and in an atmosphere of fun.  This card suggests that you have exceptionally good friends who are always there for you, ready and willing to be at your side like family.  The Three of Cups is the growth of relationships of all kinds.  It’s about enjoyment, being exuberant, enjoying companionships, establishing bonds of loyalty and trust, asking for and receiving help if needed, and making some new friends.  It’s the best part of what parties, family gatherings, social clubs, company, and friendship are all about :-)

If you are invited to a social event and can’t decide whether you really want to go or not . . . the Three of Cups encourages you to attend!  This card indicates that this is not a time to spend alone.  Be among friends and/or family.  Do something fun!  Life may hold many responsibilities and commitments, but it’s supposed to be fun, too!  Celebrate friendships and close companions.  You are richly rewarded with people who love you.

With such a positive theme from the Three of Cups, it’s okay (and even recommended) to put aside your troubles for a bit.  You can tend to them after you’ve given yourself, family, and friends the attention that each of you need.  Take a deep breath  . . . and relax!  You’ve worked hard, you’ve dealt with issues that needed to be handled, and you have earned the right to have a little fun and time for something that brings you pleasure!  Life can be really good right now!

Have a wonderful month!

Tarot Tuesday – July 27th

  • Posted on July 27, 2010 at 3:58 pm

This week’s question is from Jo:  “As of now, my relationship has come to a standstill due to the differences between our mothers. Although, my father met his father and tried clearing up things but i don’t see any progress happening. Do you see a light of hope here? Will things move in a positive direction?  Thanks :) )”

Cards Drawn:  7 of Swords – King of Swords – 10 of Swords

Only the Swords energy has come up for our attention and consideration, Jo.  This is a very conflicting energy that portrays a lot of stress and struggle in your situation.  The only rational energy among these Swords is the King of Swords who sits in the middle of this layout.  This King represents the energy of the fathers trying to reconcile the matter in a practical and fair-minded way.  But that doesn’t seem like it’s going to be enough to get the mothers to find agreement here.  The voice of reason seems to continually be disregarded.  And sadly, the concept of love seems irrelevant between the feuding parties in this matter.

With the Seven of Swords coming up to describe this situation, we obviously have some negative attitudes at work in the situation.  The mothers seem to be “at war” here, perhaps each one treating the situation more like a property settlement instead of a proposed marital arrangement.  Someone doesn’t feel that this choice is a good one, and facts might be twisted in this hot mess of Swords energy.  It’s as if someone is afraid they aren’t getting enough or someone isn’t giving enough in this situation – and no agreement is being reached at a time when the parties involved continue to feel like they are being taken advantage of in some way.

The situation through the Seven of Swords shows the concept of perceived betrayal, and the Ten of Swords concludes with that same sensation of betrayal, frustration, and deep disappointment that goes with that.  Sadly Jo, the energy of this situation is simply not leading to a resolution any time soon.  The energy here is unrelentingly painful, showing the failure or falling apart of an endeavor that you’ve invested a lot of effort, time, and attention to.  It can all feel like a waste, because the situation is not producing the results you had expected.  Perhaps if the final choice was to rest with the fathers, this mess could actually be sorted out and resolved rationally.  But since the mothers seem to be at war in the situation, we are unfortunately not being shown a favorable resolution for you and this young man to come together and have the blessings from both families.  The Ten of Swords shows us how you are perhaps being forced away from this man and possibly in a new direction – and it doesn’t feel fair to you.  I’m just not seeing resolution coming up for this right now.  The sensation of anger and hostility seems too dominant, and those feelings just don’t allow for cooperation among the feuding parties involved.

Tarot To Go — Weekly Sun Sign Tarot Tips (July 26 – August 1)

  • Posted on July 24, 2010 at 10:00 am

Here are your weekly Tarot Tips by Sun Sign.  For this feature, I am using traditional Western Sun signs of the zodiac, but if you’re curious what your Vedic Astrology Sun sign is, check out the Vedic Astrology Sun Signs page and compare.  If your Vedic Sun sign is different than your traditional Western sign, you might even see how both of the energies listed below could apply to you – or perhaps one may be more prominent for you than the other.

ARIES:  5 of Swords – Hollow victory and defeat.  Avoid confrontation this week, as you could experience a “no-win” situation.  You could be dealing with someone who doesn’t play fair, so consider if a battle is even worth fighting before you engage in conflict or debate with someone.  Don’t get caught up in gossip, and don’t share your secrets or confidences with someone that you have even the slightest doubt about trusting.

TAURUS:  4 of Cups – A time of re-evaluation and contemplation.  You may be feeling bored with your routine or feel like nothing new and interesting ever happens.  Take a second look, as it may be better than you think.  There may be a new opportunity or a blessing at hand that you’re overlooking.  Don’t get so caught up in pity that you miss out on what you could be enjoying!

GEMINI:  6 of Pentacles – Gains and profit forthcoming.  You may be advancing on some level, and if you need assistance, it will be available.  You may discover new sources of income, new financial opportunities, and good investments.  And you might also have the opportunity and the ability to “share the wealth” with others in some way.  This is a time in which you can afford to be generous with others, preferably in a way that helps someone to help himself, rather than offering the kind of assistance that makes one become too dependent on you.

CANCER:  Page of Swords – This week you may have to investigate or do some research to uncover answers that you don’t currently have.  Be prepared to ask questions, get answers, and study a situation for further knowledge and insight. There may be something of value to learn.  Be open to new ideas, new philosophies, and new chances to learn and apply knowledge.  Let yourself be the “student” this week.

LEO:  3 of Wands – Your ships will be coming in!  New partnerships may be established – whether they are business related, love related, or in friendship.  You may connect with the right person or group who can help you advance.  In some way, support is available to you so that you can remain confident and capable in your endeavors.  A lot of hard work and creative energy may still be needed, but you are well on your way to producing a worthwhile and rewarding accomplishment.  This can be an exciting time as you are stretched and challenged to achieve more than you thought possible.

VIRGO:  10 of Wands – This may be a rather oppressive and stressful week with the handling of many responsibilities that can feel like a burden.  You may feel like you have to do it all yourself, but look to see if you can delegate some duties and lighten your load somehow.  Additionally, look to see just how much you are carrying on your own shoulders and determine what is important to keep and what you should possibly let go of for now.  The goal is in sight, but the journey has been or is likely a long road ahead.

LIBRA:  Knight of Wands –  A time for enthusiasm, taking action, and making things happen in your world, Libra!  Take a chance.  Allow yourself to be spontaneous and make some last minute decisions.  Throw inhibitions aside, and let yourself explore unchartered territory.  Do something you’ve always wanted to do.  This is not the time to hang back or hide in the crowd.  It’s time to step forward with confidence.

SCORPIO:  Wheel of Fortune – Scorpio, you are the lucky sign this week with the Wheel of Fortune gracing your world!  Good luck is with you! Favorable changes are coming.  This energy brings you that “on top of the world” feeling.  Something you want may become available or possible for you to have this week.  Additionally, this is a karmic card that brings positive rewards for past actions of goodness and kindness.  So remember that what you do now will also impact your future karma as well.

SAGITTARIUS:  King of Pentacles – Be practical and down-to-earth this week.  Avoid any temptation for “get-rich-quick” schemes, because the only road to real success is the path taken that involves effort and care on your part.  It’s not always an easy road, but the rewards are certainly worth the commitment and hard work it takes to get there.  This week you may enjoy an increase in finances and feel that comfortable sensation of stability in your life.

CAPRICORN:  Queen of Wands – In some way, you may be called upon to be a leader, guide, or mentor this week — whether as a supervisor, a parent, a teacher, or a coordinator for a group effort.  Others may look up to you as you take the spotlight of attention.  But you probably won’t mind this at all.  In fact, you’re likely to enjoy such an opportunity in which you’ll inspire and help others on some level.

AQUARIUS:  9 of Pentacles – This is a time to follow your heart to do something you want to do.  Opportunity for gain, improvement, and advancement is close at hand.  It’s possible that you may have to sacrifice something in order to get what you want.  So consider what sacrifices you are willing to make in order to achieve your goals.  Whatever gift comes your way this week, be it simple or grand . . . enjoy the pleasures the moment brings to you!

PISCES:  The Emperor – It’s a time to take charge and be disciplined.  To make the best use of this “take charge” energy, a good place to start is to get organized.  Focus your energy on any area of your life that could use a bit more order and discipline.  You may find an opportunity where your determination, personal power, leadership, and willingness to take action will be important to you in reaching a new and successful milestone in the development of your goals and plans for the future.

Have a great week!

Tarot Tuesday – July 20th

  • Posted on July 20, 2010 at 3:22 pm

This week’s question is from “Curious Seeker”:  My relationship with my brother has been strained over the past few months as a result of some harsh words that were said by him about my life a few months back.  He was incredibly judgemental and said a lot of things I have had a hard time letting go of.  Over the past month we have been trying to re-establish a connection after many months of not speaking.  However, in our latest communication I felt like we were at a bit of a stalemate, where I was once again feeling as if I was being unfairly criticised and judged by him.

I have gone through a lot of major changes in my life over the past few years, and have worked really hard to rebuild my life after having it torn apart around me.  As such, I can be a bit defensive so I’m not certain if he is truly judging me (and finding me lacking), or if I am simply being sensitive and perceiving it as criticism and judgement being passed when it is simply meant as suggestions or observations.

It would be helpful if you could help shed light on if the current issue is with my ability to see clearly what the situation is (including my own limitations and inabilities), or if it truly is my brother being critical and judgemental.   This will help me determine if continuing to reforge a relationship with my brother at this time is worthwhile or not.

Thanks for your guidance.

Cards Drawn:  6 of Swords – Reversed 4 of Wands – Queen of Pentacles

I have done a 3-card relationship layout with the first card to represent you, the middle card to represent your brother, and the last card as an advice card. Let’s focus on the center card first – the Reversed Four of Wands.  This card represents your brother in terms of his attitudes and what he conveys.  You are not merely being a sensitive person in the situation.  This card reversal shows that he truly is being judgmental and critical of you and how you are conducting your life on some level.  He seems to believe that your life is unsettled and/or that you are restricting yourself in some way, either due to past and/or current events and situations.  He doesn’t seem to feel that you have stability in your life for whatever reasons.  And this can certainly let you down when family treats you in such a non-supportive manner!  Associations with your brother may continue to bring more of the same and leave you with a subdued feeling.  It can feel like just when you are about to make a breakthrough with some progress . . . it all turns upside down again.

The Six of Swords represents you in this situation, and with Swords energy going on here, I feel that you are seeing quite clearly what is happening.  His beliefs and opinions do not resonate with your own, and this keeps pushing you further away from him, even though he’s your family.  But Curious Seeker, you have had a great deal of turmoil and upset in your life, and it’s a part of your survival instinct to move away from troubles and head toward calmer, more peaceful, and balanced life situations.  Your brother does not contribute to the calm and harmony that you are striving to create in your life.  And sometimes you simply have to take that “time out” and put some distance between yourself and the source of problems – even when it’s family that is being the difficult source of upset.  With this card, I see how you would very much like to reconcile the situation, but his reversed energy does not show a willingness to reconcile the situation with you or to compromise fairly in this matter at all.

So what does the Tarot advise here?  The Queen of Pentacles comes up and asks you to be the responsible person here for yourself.  Don’t fall into your brother’s belief that you have some kind of instability going on in your life, because it looks like you truly are creating a stable life for you and your family with this Queen energy here.  You need to nurture that which promotes your best interests and is for the highest good of all concerned.  And while this card would not recommend going out of your way to argue a point with your brother, you do have the right to take a stand and let him know that what he wants to discuss is not open for discussion due to seemingly irreconcilable beliefs and differences in opinion.  Certainly welcome him to talk about other things if he wants to, but don’t let him badger you.  This Queen is a grounded Pentacles energy, and through that, I can see her telling us that sometimes we have to stand our ground!  We have to sometimes literally be on our own side and not worry as to whether others will choose to stand beside us or not.  Even when the people you expect to be there for you turn the other way, you have yourself to rely on.  That’s what matters above all else.  You have the ability to continue being a strong woman and taking care of yourself and your children – and at the end of the day, you can be proud of what you have done.  So while I know it’s hard not to keep dwelling on things that family say to put us down needlessly and wrongfully, that’s not where your focus should be.  Focus on the wonderful attributes you exhibit each day – and the great mother and provider you are for your children.  Your brother may be like a dark cloud who wants to rain on your parade, but look at yourself as a woman who remembers her umbrella and will not be daunted by such “weather conditions.”  Recognize your worth and capabilities.  You have much reason to be proud of your accomplishments to date!

Many Blessings!

Tarot To Go — Weekly Sun Sign Tarot Tips (July 19 – 25)

  • Posted on July 18, 2010 at 5:03 pm

Here are your weekly Tarot Tips by Sun Sign.  For this feature, I am using traditional Western Sun signs of the zodiac, but if you’re curious what your Vedic Astrology Sun sign is, check out the Vedic Astrology Sun Signs page and compare.  If your Vedic Sun sign is different than your traditional Western sign, you might even see how both of the energies listed below could apply to you – or perhaps one may be more prominent for you than the other.

ARIES:  Temperance – Moderation and balance is the theme for you this week.  Don’t overdo.  Find a healthy and comfortable pace in your activities.  Be patient with people and situations in your life.  Don’t try to push too hard for one outcome or another.  Sometimes it is best to quietly step back and let things work themselves out for awhile.  Keep an open mind and be flexible.  Aim for cooperation with others.  And remember that patience will win in the end.

TAURUS:  Reversed 4 of Wands – Something still needs more work and attention in order to be stable.  You may be called outside of your comfort zone to move in a new direction in some way, even if this doesn’t feel safe or comfortable to do.  If you feel like your accomplishments are not enough, or you are let down due to not manifesting your expectations, this is a signal that it’s time for you to stretch and grow a little more.  This is not a time to quit or give up, but to see what you can do even better than before!

GEMINI:  Wheel of Fortune – Lucky Gemini, you’ve got the Wheel of Fortune card!  Things are looking up for you!  The winds of change are blowing favorably in your direction.  A positive change may arise for you.  It’s your time to take a chance and “spin the wheel.”  Allow for beneficial changes in your life by staying alert for possible chance meetings, opportunities, or unusual events that bring something positive your way.  It’s a time for taking that good risk you’ve been contemplating.  Reach out and go for it!

CANCER:  9 of Wands – Something may put you on the defensive this week.  Keep your guard up and stay alert, but don’t be paranoid.  It’s a time to plan for the “unexpected” so that things don’t take you by surprise or catch you off guard.  If you feel that you have been knocked down in life, you do need to get right back up and dust yourself off.  You will only be beaten if you believe that you have been beaten!  So keep putting forth your efforts, because victory comes to those who endure!

LEO:  4 of Swords – While you may often love the spotlight, being the go-getter that you usually are, Leo . . . your Tarot card this week is asking you to try to tone things down a bit – and perhaps slow down.  Take some time-out to pause and reflect before you take action.  Take time for planning, preparing, or strategizing.  Give yourself a break and get some rest so that you will be fully charged up when it’s time to get back into the action of things full force again.

VIRGO:  The Hanged Man – This week may be one of pause and wait for you.  In some way, you may need to make a sacrifice.  It’s not a time for action or jumping into things. Instead, it’s a time to reflect, consider your attitude or approach, and gain a fresh perspective on something important to you.  This is a time to practice patience and to suspend any major decisions for the time being.  Take the time to carefully think things over before you act.

LIBRA:  Strength – You have control over a situation, perhaps even more than you realized.  This is a time to exercise your strength in a gentle way versus a harsh or hard manner.  Go forth with confidence and courage, and know that willpower and determination will conquer any obstacles in front of you.  Draw upon your inner strength.  It is there, and it’s waiting on you to claim it!  You have the strength to shape things effectively in your world and get what you want.  And it all begins through wise use of your personal power.

SCORPIO:  Queen of Wands – A good week to nurture and promote your creative inspirations!  Go for your goals with ambition and purpose, because a lot can be achieved under this energy.  Experiences you encounter this week can serve to boost your self-confidence and help you gain momentum in your efforts.  This is also a time when it may be easier to get others to sit up and take notice of you, and so you may enjoy more cooperation and teamwork in your environment this week.

SAGITTARIUS:  The Lovers – Significant choices may arise for your consideration.  Such choices could relate to matters of love, as this card’s title implies, but it could also be other matters that come to your attention and call for choices to be considered.  When you choose in favor of one option, this may mean that you have to let go of another option.  Choose wisely.  Balance your emotions and your intellect to make appropriate choices.  While you should not choose solely with your heart, neither should you choose only with your intellect.  Find the balance.

CAPRICORN:  3 of Pentacles – Pay attention to details.  Your efforts now can bring you reward. An atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork prevails.  Acknowledge your talents, skills, and abilities.  Others may notice some of your gifts and abilities this week, and you should notice them as well!  Give yourself credit for your efforts.  Put a creative touch on whatever you are working on this week.  Manifest beauty in some way that will be pleasing to you.

AQUARIUS:  The Magician – The power is in your hands to create the life you want and to manifest your dreams.  This is the card of turning dreams into reality!  You have the tools and resources needed to turn those dreams into something tangible.  If you don’t think you have what you need, look for ways to improvise.  With desire, intent, and focus, your dreams are within reach.  You are truly the master of your own destiny, and this is what the Tarot asks you to remember this week!

PISCES:  King of Wands – A great week to put your ideas into action effectively!  Be the master of your creative and inspirational fire!  Assume a “take charge” mentality this week.  Focus on your goals and let your enthusiasm shine.  Inspire others through the example you set as well.  Adopt a “can-do” attitude like the King of Wands, for this approach will work far better than saying “I can’t.”  Try it and see!

Have a fantastic week!
