Each week, I pull a card from a random Tarot deck to bring us a message or piece of wisdom that we can think about or use in our lives on some level – if not now, we can refer back to it when it seems to be more fitting for us.  This is food for thought, and not drawn for any one particular person or situation.

For this week’s message, I have drawn from the Tarot of the Saints.  Deck by Robert M. Place; published 2001 by Llewellyn.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

King of Swords (St. Paul)
This is a week in which you will be called to step up and accept responsibility.  It’s a time to get serious about your projects or decisions to be made.  Essentially, this can put you in the role of leadership on some level – even if it’s leadership of your own life versus the leading of others.

Trust that you would not be called upon to lead if you were not up to the task.  Be fair and objective if conflict arises.  Listen to all sides of a story, and then strive for a balanced decision that will be in the best interests of the majority.  This is a week where logic and analytical thinking is called for.  It’s not a time to be wishy-washy or let emotions interfere in decision making.

Put aside drama, and approach situations with a clear frame of mind.  Some tough love may be called for, and this might not make you popular, but to maintain proper control of things, you don’t have room to be too soft at this time.

You might also encounter an individual who does not sugar coat words to spare feelings.  Try not to take such words as an insult, but look for the constructive criticism that can actually help you.  Someone’s intentions are not likely out to “get you” or hurt you . . . but to help you instead.  If you can look beyond how messages are delivered and focus on the message itself, you will get a lot more out of it than if you take it all so personally.

If you have a decision to make, don’t allow feelings to get in the way of making the best decisions for your circumstances.  Certainly, you should be aware of your feelings, but don’t allow emotions to be a deciding factor.  Use your head now rather than your heart to face your choices and make important decisions. Try to put aside emotions that can unnecessarily get your feelings hurt and focus on the business at hand that you must tend to.

This is a time to be original and brainstorm to come up with helpful ideas, concepts, or designs.  Keep an open mind and think as clearly as you can.  Be ready to share knowledge and teach others what you know, but also be ready to listen and learn, because this two-way intellectual atmosphere can benefit everyone when all contributions of thought are put on the table for consideration.  Trust yourself to make wise choices.  Before committing to a major decision, think it over carefully.  Being prudent, wise, and logical will serve you well . . . and so will honesty, common sense, and fairness.

St. Paul is the saint featured as the King of Swords in “Tarot of the Saints.”  Originally, this saint’s name was Saul – at a time when he imprisoned people for Christianity.  But after being blinded by a vision of Jesus, he was knocked off his horse.  Three days later, he regained his sight and had himself baptized with the name of Paul.  From that point, he became as adamant about defending Christianity as he previously had been about attacking it.

St. Paul’s lessons is that the pen is mightier than the sword.  Words are more influential than force.  He also symbolizes our ability to improve, to become our better self, and to find our destiny.

In what areas would you like to improve your life this week?  Do you see how you can accomplish betterment of the self through words than by trying to force yourself or others in a particular direction?  What in your life are you defending?  Are you defending the things that are true to your nature?  These are issues that the King of Swords suggests we should not take lightly.

It’s time to get serious about understanding what we’re all about, and exactly what direction we intend to go.  We need to know who or what we are serving, and how that provides benefit to ourselves and others – even if it can sometimes feel a little tough to execute the decisions that might not be popular with everyone else.

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel

Each week, I pull a card from a random Tarot deck to bring us a message or piece of wisdom that we can think about or use in our lives on some level – if not now, we can refer back to it when it seems to be more fitting for us.  This is food for thought, and not drawn for any one particular person or situation.

For this week’s message, I have drawn from the Psychic Tarot Oracle deck.  Deck by John Holland;  published in 2007 by Hay House.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

Material & Physical Prosperity (6 of Pentacles)
As its name implies, this card represents material and physical prosperity for this week.  It is the equivalent of the 6 of Pentacles in traditional tarot.  Whatever money you need, or whatever help you need may arise through some form of assistance, grant, loan, or other money coming to you.  It is possible that you may be either the giver or the receiver of a generous deed this week.

In this card we see a man spending a few quiet moments looking out toward what he has attained in life. He is grateful for what he has been fortunate enough to acquire.  And because he is looking outward, it’s an indication that he’s considering what he could give, share, or offer to others who are in need.  This energy is not about keeping everything to yourself if you have something that you can spare for someone else – even if it’s just a donation of your time to others who need the help.

The essence of material and spiritual prosperity come from the concept of giving and receiving.  Thus, whether you are in the position of needing some help, or whether you’re able to offer help in some way to others . . . this card suggests that you can find those opportunities this week to get the help you need, or to help someone who is in need.  It is in the act of giving and receiving that we find true riches.

I’m sure you’ve heard the stories of how someone’s $100 church plate donation is not as much as someone else’s $1 donation.  The first time I heard that story, I was very young . . . and it didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me.  After all, I knew that $100 was a whole lot more than a $1.

But finally, as I matured, I understood the reasoning behind those stories.  And it’s all about how the person giving the $100 would never miss that money because they had more than plenty.  But the person who graciously gave a $1 was the poor one who would miss that little amount of money.  Once I was old enough to understand the reasoning behind this, it all made perfect sense to me.  And this is what the 6 of Pentacles (Material & Prosperity) card really teaches us.

The 6 of Pentacles encourages us to practice generosity, gratitude, and compassion so that we will continue to prosper in all areas of our lives.  It doesn’t ask us to let anyone take advantage of our kindness, though.  It asks us to give according to what is needed in a given situation. This is why we generally see a scales in the traditional 6 of Pentacles.

Give no more, but no less, than what is necessary.  We are asked to lend a hand today, and give from the heart – knowing that we can make a difference.

And one of the best differences you can make in anyone’s life is to help them to help themselves.

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel

Here are the Tarot-Scopes by Sun Sign for the month of May.  For this feature, I am using traditional Western Sun signs of the zodiac, but if you’re curious what your Vedic Astrology Sun sign is, check out the Vedic Astrology Sun Signs page and compare.

If your Vedic Sun sign is different than your traditional Western sign, you might even see how both of the energies listed below could apply to you – or perhaps one may be more prominent for you than the other.

For this month’s featured Tarot-Scopes, we have a marriage of traditional tarot AND the Psycards.

So why the Psycards with Tarot?  One reason is because of a heightened interest in the Psycards oracle.  I’ve received a lot of reading requests recently at Enchanted Oracles for readings with the Psycards deck.

And I wanted to show you how enlightening it can be to blend other oracles of interest with the Tarot cards.  So . . . let’s get started and see what’s up for each of the signs this month.

ARIES:  Queen of Pentacles / The Tower
Your focus this month is on the home front, Aries.  Family and home life may be especially important at this time, as you find yourself nurturing and caring for the people you love.

If you typically get out and about quite a bit, life may slow down somewhat for you – yet this is a good thing and not a bad thing.  You may be spending more time on taking care of the home – perhaps even doing some decorating, remodeling, rearranging . . . or spring cleaning!

It’s a time to focus on the practical things in your world.  Take care of the things around you and the people that you love.  The focus is on abundance that comes through home and family life.  No need to rush around – but just enjoy the chance to take the slow and steady route for whatever you are working on.  Slow and steady wins the race – and it allows your foundations to be more stable.

TAURUS:  Reversed 8 of Swords / The Warrior
A difficult issue will find a solution this month, Taurus.  And this happens through bringing out the warrior within you.  You can finally start making firm choices that help you get “unstuck” from a rut you’ve been in.

The warrior within you lets your confidence shine.  It allows you to make decisions that have probably been hard ones you previously struggled with.

Now you realize that you are NOT as helpless or as trapped as it may have seemed.  You are taking off the “blinders” and seeing the light.  Things are improving so that you will find better conditions and arrangement after what has felt like a long time of struggle and frustration.

GEMINI:  Reversed Queen of Wands / Skills
You may find a need to brush up on some skills this month, Gemini.  Perhaps you’ve gotten a bit rusty.  And trying to go back into something with the same grace and style as you once had can be frustrating.  So it’s time to oil those squeaky hinges and reopen the talents that exist within you.

You may be wobbly at first, but that’s okay.  Whatever you did well in the past, you can do it well once again. No need to blame yourself or anyone/anything else for not having used certain skills or talents for a while.  Whatever the reasons that you stopped, it seems it’s time to start again!

The Skills card alerts you to your strengths and experiences, and it can also point to where you lack them, too.  Recognizing your own weaknesses can be a key step to work through a difficult dynamic.  Consider this an opportunity and a challenge at the same time – it’s an opportunity to sharpen a quiver that may have become blunt over time.
CANCER:  The Empress / The Tree
What seeds are taking root in your life, Cancer?  It looks to be a fertile time for you to plant seeds this month – for whatever you want to grow abundantly!  It’s a great time to seek that new job, a new relationship, or reconnect to family and existing friendships and relationships.

The Empress and the Tree are offering you the “go for it” sign to engage in the things that can turn out to be very productive for you.  But remember, just as a tree does not grow and bloom overnight, you will need to develop enough patience to appreciate your progress that comes through small steps taken daily.

Establish solid foundations underneath your ventures, Cancer!  What is rooted in a strong foundation has the greatest potential to fully grow and blossom into what you wish to manifest.  So apply yourself well this month, and know that with patience and effort . . . you’ll finally get to see some growing rewards!

LEO:  6 of Cups / The Sage
An old friend could offer you some wise advice that’s worth listening to, Leo.  This could be someone of your past that you’ve not seen or connected with in a while, or it can simply be someone you have known for a very long time, even if you still see them regularly.

Draw on the gift of knowledge that others are willingly ready to share with you at this time.  You might also be on the other side of this coin where it is you who can offer sage advice to someone who needs to hear your wisdom.

Knowledge is power, so use it with care.  And remember that we are never too old to learn new things.  Life presents daily opportunities for all of us to learn something we didn’t know yesterday.  See what new things you can learn this month – and next month, you’ll be all the wise for these experiences.

VIRGO:  The Hermit / Friendship
This month, you may see a need to balance your time between “alone time” and the time you spend with friends, Virgo.  Both are important, but too much of either is not emotionally healthy.  Too much time alone can cause you to feel cut off and isolated, while not enough time for yourself can cause you to miss the wisdom of messages that can only arrive in quieter moments of time.

Your friends may offer you some well-intentioned advice, Virgo, but it’s also up to you to decide on your own truths.  What do you really believe about a situation, and why do you feel this way?  The best wisdom you can ever have will come through your own experiences in life.

So point your lantern on the truth – as you see it.  Listen to the advice and information of others.  But at the end of the day, you must form your own conclusions. When this month is done, you’re bound to know something that you didn’t know previously!

LIBRA:  King of Wands / Voyage
It’s quite possible that you will be taking a trip of some sort this month, Libra.   Whether it’s just a short trip or a longer voyage will depend on your circumstances.  But this journey – whatever it entails – seems to be something that will interest you and, in some way, broaden your horizons.

The energy for you is action-oriented. It’s about setting your ships to sail so that you can reap the rewards when they are ready to be returned to you.

This journey might also imply a “journey of the heart or mind” instead of a physical trip or voyage.  Whatever the case may be, it’s all about reaching out enthusiastically.  It’s a “go for it” kind of energy that lets you take action on your goals.  Wherever this journey may be leading you, Libra, enjoy it just as much as the actual destination.  It’s often the journey itself that brings you the most valuable knowledge and experience.

SCORPIO:  9 of Pentacles / Yes
Scorpio, you are getting a big YES for something you’ve been thinking about lately.  Life may hand you a nice gift this month – something that is abundant or profitable on some level.  It could present a new opportunity for your consideration.  And if you feel inclined to accept, the cards are certainly in your favor to do that!

Whatever it is that you need to go for will depend on the situation at hand.  With the Nine of Pentacles here, it may relate to material assets or ways in which you earn money.  It can point to the seeking of a new job, or even the acceptance of a job offer.  It can even point to letting yourself spend some of your hard-earned money on a luxury that you’ve had your eye on for a while.

Yes, Libra – go for it!  Whatever “it” happens to be for you, the cards are cheering you toward that goal.

SAGITTARIUS:  5 of Swords / The Beast
Ah, Sagittarius . . . it looks like there are going to be some significant challenges for you to deal with this month.  And those very challenges may bring out the beast within you – or within someone else!  Something may seem to block your progress at this time.

You may find that you must fight that inner dragon of your own soul in order to progress forward.  It’s time to call upon your courage to confront what stands in your way at this time.  It’s time to face your fears.

In order to face this, you must first recognize what the fear is for you.  Understand how this fear hinders your progress.  Are you afraid of something going wrong . . . or perhaps you are literally afraid of success?  Identify the fear within you.  And know that one of the best ways to conquer fear is to feed it knowledge!  When you understand something, you naturally become less fearful about it all.

CAPRICORN:  The Tower / The Sun
An upheaval may bring great enlightenment for you this month, Capricorn.  And while a Tarot Tower’s experience is not one bit fun to go through . . . it does show you why things fell apart.  It literally illuminates your path in a time of destruction, so that you can start picking up the pieces to rebuild a better foundation for the future.

But take heart, Capricorn, because the Sun shines upon you once again!  While a big disruptive storm may be brewing, and while it may render some kind of upheaval or destruction in your world . . . the Sun brightens the situation and puts a healthy perspective on things.

Whatever is changing, it’s truly for the best.  Even if you have to take a new direction altogether, you’re going to be happier when your life is resting on more stable foundations than what they were in the past!  Despite some kind of turmoil that could strike like lightening, Capricorn . . . better times are also promised here.  Out of something bad, something good will have a chance to emerge!

AQUARIUS:  8 of Pentacles / Liberation
Progress, development, and liberation are your themes this month, Aquarius.  The hard work you apply now can pay off down the road!  So even if you are engaged in work that doesn’t seem to pay well now (like an apprenticeship), the rewards that come later can be quite liberating!

So pay attention to details now and work hard at getting things right, Aquarius.  Your future path depends upon the efforts you put into things right now.

Be persistent about what you want.  You can’t just “say” you want this or that . . . you have to show the Universe what you really want, and you do this through the actions you take and the efforts you apply.  Work hard now, and the reward and benefit will catch up to you later.  It’s worth it!

PISCES:  Knight of Cups / Death
Don’t be alarmed, Pisces. The Psycards Death card, like in Tarot, does not signify a physical death.  With the Knight of Cups moving toward that doorway of death, it signifies that a peaceful ending or conclusion to something is near.

What once worked out nicely for you seems to be reaching an ending.  But you can find acceptance for this with the hope of new beginnings.

This can signify the ending of a relationship, or it can suggest finally finding peace and closure from an ending that has already occurred.  This is all about making peace with things that are changing in your life, Pisces.  And through such endings, it is new beginnings that are born!

Each week, I pull a card from a random Tarot deck to bring us a message or piece of wisdom that we can think about or use in our lives on some level – if not now, we can refer back to it when it seems to be more fitting for us.  This is food for thought, and not drawn for any one particular person or situation.

For this week’s message, I have drawn from the Australian Animal Tarot.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

The Devil
This week’s wisdom brings us the Devil card from the Australian Animal Tarot.  This is a card that naturally makes us cringe. What could it mean for us personally?  The keywords noted on this card are:  chained, self-delusions, curiosity, and power.

Interesting – power seems to be a theme for this week, but HOW that power is used will influence an outcome!

The goanna is a type of large lizard that is featured as the animal for this card.  This animal totem represents protection, emotional problems, confidence and arrogance, aggression . . . but also running from problems as well.

The Devil card asks you to recognize what it is that you are chained to in life.  It’s pointing out unhealthy chains of self-delusion.  When issues in life are serious enough to warrant our complete attention, this card has a way of making itself known!

This card can also indicate addictions in life that need to be addressed.  Addictions are most commonly thought of as drugs or alcohol, but unhealthy addictions can also arise through other things as well.  Additionally, a self-defeating habit can also be too much stubbornness at play!

As an example, this card kept coming up for me repeatedly not long ago – trying to get my attention for something I chose to ignore in matters of health.  I had a stubborn stance about going to the doctor, trying to pretend that my back discomfort from an old injury would just go away of its own accord.  I didn’t want to be prescribed unnatural medications.  As I grew worse and worse, and slept less and less each night, this card continued to come up.

And finally, I realized (or perhaps “accepted”) . . . it wasn’t something I could keep ignoring.  Yes, I had to take unnatural medications, but I also felt better.  And the quality of my life was returned!

So sometimes we have to break down the barriers of stubborn behavior and realize that our quality of life is influenced by our own attitudes and behaviors.  Just as someone can be addicted to some substance, one can also be addicted to stubborn behaviors that take away from the quality in life.

In this example, I may have “thought” I was protecting my body by refusing unnatural medications . . . but I was only hurting myself and chaining myself to a miserable existence.  That’s no way to live, whichever side of the coin you find yourself on!

The goanna lizard speaks of self-worth.  It is important to know how to protect and defend yourself.  This is a primary lesson from this animal.  When you have a strong sense of self-worth, you will have the confidence to protect and defend yourself in the right ways.  Do you know how to assert yourself if someone is bullying you or backing you into a corner?  If not, it’s time to learn!

Some situations will call upon us to be fierce and protective, but also beware of being too harsh or fierce around friends and loved ones.  Find the healthy middle ground that will work for you and your boundaries.  You can be firm without being cruel.  But when someone is being cruel to you, it’s necessary to take a stand.

Power and protection are two important key themes to take away from this week’s wisdom card.  You have the power to control and direct your life in the right ways.  So how you use this power can be positive . . . or it can be destructive!  It’s up to you to find the happy medium that allows you to protect yourself and the ones you love . . . but without stepping on toes unnecessarily in the process.

This week is also about boundaries.  Boundaries are not something to chain yourself to; they are also not intended to keep everyone out of your own circle.  Boundaries are designed to keep things in healthy balance.  Too much of anything (even a good thing) is not a good thing in the end.  Know your limits; know your boundaries.  And heed them well – protect them well.

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

Discernment
This week’s theme is about equilibrium, harmony, and balance.  Life can be like a tightrope, and we have to stay focused to maintain balance at times.  We have to keep putting one foot in front of the other and make good decisions for each new steps we plan to take.

In this card, an acrobat in costume is featured on a tightrope. She holds a balancing bar to help her stay stabilized.  This week, we need to figure out what our own “balancing bar” is to assist us in navigating through life’s tightrope.

It’s a week in which we may need to literally “walk the line.”  It’s not a time to rock the boat and upset the balance of a situation.  It’s not the time to lose your cool.

Stay focused on the steps in front of you.  Keep looking ahead – not behind you or beside you – and definitely don’t look down!  In this case, if the walker on the tightrope looks down, she could easily become distracted and lose her balance.  This is a week in which we need to try to eliminate some distractions in order to focus on the tasks we have in front of us.

From the Little White Book of Today’s Journey Tarot, on page 23, it tells us that this card “represents that discernment or good judgment is needed.  This card suggests a link to the Divine.  Use your intuition.  Focus on the task at hand.  Choose wisely.  When you are balanced and focused, the path will become clear.  A spiritual presence is offering guidance.”

Look to who or what can help guide you this week.  Focus on staying on task and keeping things as balanced as you can.  If you can do this, emotions can be healthy ones, and you can enjoy a productive and harmonious week.

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

Justice
This week can usher in some karmic influences.  We are asked to take responsibility for our choices and actions.  What we do today (or don’t do) will, on some level, influence our tomorrows.  So Justice is pointing out that there will be consequences or rewards for the things we choose to do or not do.  We must all take responsibility for our own behavior – and not try to blame something or someone else for what results from that.

If you are dealing with legal matters during this time, Justice indicates that the matter will likely be settled favorably for you.  The appearance of this card can bring about contracts or legal documents that need your signature.  With Justice upright, things tend to be fairly balanced – or the actions and decisions made now will help to ensure a fair balance in the near future.

If something has been chaotic or unbalanced in your world, Justice suggests that you may reach an equitable agreement or compromise on some issue.  Decisions now should be made without prejudice, bias, or preconceptions.  Strive for harmony in your situations this week.  Put issues in their proper perspective, and be willing to listen to opposing points of view.  You need to hear both sides of a story, not just one side.  And from there, you can form fair judgments or conclusions.

Listening to all sides of a story does not mean you have to be in agreement with all sides, but it’s the fair way to decide.  So gather all the input and use that information to come to fair conclusions.  Mutual understandings and agreements can be reached.

This is a time to conduct yourself with honesty.  There is clarity to help you break through any illusions or deceptions.  Look objectively at an issue and see what is really there — not just what you want to see.  You are able to work cooperatively in situations and bring equilibrium to what is out of balance or misaligned.  You might also be finding closure on some important issue in your life.

Stand up for yourself and for what you believe.  Have the courage of your convictions.  Strive to treat everyone fairly, yourself included, and the scales will always tip in your favor.  Truth and justice will prevail, whether karmic, moral, ethical, or legal, and you will get what you deserve.

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel

Stress Buster Tarot Spread
By Velvet Angel

Image below courtesy of galtime.com

It seems that many people lately have been hit with stress in such a major way – from money matters, relationship issues, work problems, health issues, legal concerns . . . and more!  I don’t think the stress demons are leaving very many of us alone.

So how do we cope with it?  In dealing with a great deal of stress myself lately, I decided to take it to the Tarot and see what wisdom the cards would offer.

This spread covers the biggest stress issue in your life and the root of that stress – or where it stems or has originated from.  This is helpful when there are multiple issues or directions pulling at you, and you don’t know what to deal with first among the various stressful issues.

But you can also use this spread to explore a particular stress factor that you know is causing you problems.

It explores what level of control you have in the situation.  I think the level of control we have is an important consideration.  Because even though we know in our minds that we need to focus on the things we CAN change or do (the areas for which we do have some control) and let go of that which is beyond our control . . . our emotional hearts tend to cause a lot of worry even for that which we have no power to change.

Thus, the spread I designed below also offers advice on how you can cope with your specific issue of concern, and where things are heading, based on the trends and patterns of energy at this time.

The layout has been designed like an inverted triangle to point to the potential outcome.  And while a less-than-desirable outcome will not be fun to see, we can use the advice and information from the other cards to either try to alter our course . . . or just realize when we need to let go, even if we think we can’t or don’t want to.

If a favorable outcome appears, then we will be reminded that all things do eventually change – even the difficult and stressful situations we are trying to cope with.  We can use the information we receive in this spread to help us cope and take actions that are appropriate for our situations – or to hang back if needed and learn to release a little more.

Letting go is not easy, but sometimes we simply hang on too tightly and make things more complex and worrisome than they need to be – especially if we do only have a limited level of control and cannot change everything in a situation that we would want to change.

While some of you may very well have multiple issues going on that are causing stress in your life, this spread is designed to help you identify the biggest stress factor that you should address first – the biggest thing that is causing you the most pain in your life right now, even if it seems that something else may be the bigger problem.

With that said, you can definitely use this spread for a specific stress factor that you have identified and want to explore.  One of the beautiful things about tarot spreads lies in their versatility – which means that you can also change this, or any other, spread to best fit your needs at the time of a reading.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

Three of Wands
This week, your thoughts and expectations can be hopeful ones.  The Three of Wands suggests that, in some way, your “ships are coming in.”  This is a card of potential opportunities and expanding horizons.  Whatever work you have previously done and are currently doing in the attainment of a goal has value – and it can pay off for you soon.

There is a solid beginning to the new direction that you seek, and even though you may still have much work ahead of you, you are laying the required foundations for ultimate success.

This week, you may find both accomplishments as well as challenge in your journey.  You are preparing to move into the next phase of your developments, project, or agenda.

There is good reason to be confident, enthusiastic, and optimistic this week as you put creative energy to work for you in creating plans, brainstorming for new ideas and possibilities, exchanging ideas with others, and seeking opportunities to build on what you are aiming for.

The Three of Wands is also about teamwork and forming healthy alliances with others.  So whatever it is that you are working on, keep in mind that it’s a good idea to accept help from others and get people on board with what you’re doing.  There is no need to go it alone when your efforts can be enhanced by what others can contribute.  If someone offers you help this week, take them up on that offer!  Get others engaged and as excited as you are about your project or endeavor.

You are entitled to celebrate all of your initial successes – even the little ones!  You have either been in the right place at the right time, or you soon will be.  And now that you are laying the foundations for plans, additional work and creative energy will be needed to see things through.

Be flexible, as it may become necessary to modify or improve upon your original ideas.  This can be an exciting time when you find yourself stretched and challenged . . . and able to achieve more than you ever thought possible.

Keep in mind that getting where you want to be can involve a great deal of planning and hard work.  Your hopes and plans are not likely to just fall in perfect formation right in front of you without any effort – but your efforts can indeed bring desirable rewards.

Be patient this week, and do what you can do to support your goals and worthy causes.  Even during those moments where you have to wait things out before continuing on to the next step, celebrate all of your accomplishments, both great and small ones!  You hold more power than perhaps you realized.

Affirmation:  I am confident in my ability to achieve and succeed!

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel

Here are the Tarot-Scopes by Sun Sign for the month of March.

Keep in mind that a single card pulled for a given sign will not represent everything you experience during the month.  It is a significant theme of the month that you will probably see or relate to in one way or another. But it’s not the sum of the whole.  It is, however, one important aspect or theme that the Tarot wants to bring to the attention of each Sun Sign.

This month, I am using the FairyTale Tarot deck by Karen Mahoney.

ARIES:  3 of Swords

In this card, Aries, we can clearly see that there are thorns that come with the roses.  And those thorns in life can indeed sting.   Be aware that you may encounter something upsetting or heartbreaking that demands your attention – something you wish you could deny, but that you realize you can no longer avoid or ignore.

The 3 of Swords speaks of severance in one form or another.  In whatever way that you might experience this difficult energy, Aries, it can make you feel injured, unappreciated, grief-stricken, or cut off from others.  It can portray a situation that is completely unfair and very hurtful.  To put such complexities into simple form – the fact is, the energy of this card hurts in whatever way it comes.  There’s never an easy way to tell the tale of the 3 of Swords.

This month, ask yourself if the sacrifices you are making are truly valid.  It’s true that 3 of Swords energy can be painful, but it is this very energy that brings you the awareness of a situation that you simply can’t ignore.  Use this awareness to let go of what has been hurting you, and know that you deserve something better if you will allow that into your life when the time is right.  The only way out of a difficult situation . . . is through.  Try to use this energy for a transformation in your life.

TAURUS:  4 of Coins
This month may bring financial anxiety, whether such anxiety is actually warranted or not, Taurus.  Regardless of what your personal financial situation is at this time, consider if your state of mind is in “poverty consciousness.”  This is a situation where, even if you are okay financially, you tend to worry about losing what you’ve gained so far.

If you find yourself in this state of mind, the Four of Coins indicates that you will have enough.  Don’t try to hold so tightly to your possessions to the point where you attain no pleasure from those material things.  If you tend to be one who hoards everything, reconsider.  Be willing to let go of what you really don’t need, and know that someone else could benefit from those things.  Only by letting go at some level in your life can you ever expect to attract more into your life.

For some of you, you may encounter the 4 of Coins through the dreaded area of greed.  Make sure this is not you.  Value what you have, but don’t become obsessed with material things.  Consider the value of both give and take.  Is this aspect balanced in your life?  Stability is there for you, even if you think the waters look bumpy around you.  Trust this stability, and know that by not hanging on too tightly to one thing, you will be able to gain more of what you really want.

GEMINI:  Wheel of Fortune
A season or a cycle in your life may be coming to an end, Gemini, with a new cycle beginning — one that you can welcome!  You may receive some important news or information that has the potential to bring about a change for the better in your life.

You are encouraged to trust in the process of life.  Go with the flow, and watch for doors of opportunity to open.  Try not to get too stuck on plans.  Lettings things go the way they will may bring you the best fortune.

Relax and let go of some of the “control” you may be trying to exert in your life or in a relationship.  So much of our lives can be spent trying to steer the ship of our destiny and trying to control circumstances around us.  Yet some things will be out of your direct control.  Trust that what is happening is for a reason . . . to bring you to a better place and circumstance.

Fortunate influences surround you . . . so seize the opportunities that this season may bring to you.  It seems that something “lucky” for you is just ahead.  You will feel fortunate, protected, and happy with the results of something you’ve set in motion . . . or something that may just seem to just appear to you on its own.  Remember that life includes cycles of both “ups” and “downs” . . . but you are entering an “up” cycle so if things have not been going your way, take heart for better times ahead!

CANCER:  The Hanged Man
If you find yourself “stuck” about something, Cancer, the energy surrounding you now involves making some kind of a sacrifice that will assist you in getting “unstuck.”  This may involve a change in direction or perspective, and sometimes this means that you have to just let go of something for now.  Either you have to release control over something, or you have to let go of old beliefs and habits that have limited you or that have even sabotaged your best efforts.

The Hanged Man shows a willingness to release what is familiar in order to attain something new and better.  In doing so, you are at an important turning point and time of transition where you’re ready to grow.  In the meantime, you may need to wait for clear directions so that you don’t try to rush anything before it’s time . . . or so that you don’t interfere with something that needs to be handled by someone else.

Try to see things in a new and different light, Cancer.  A very important lesson which the Hanged Man teaches is that we “control” by letting go . . . and we “win” by surrendering.  You must learn to endure the frustration of not being “in control” for a while.  And thus, you will be less inclined to do anything until the time is truly right.  Even though you may have the choice to immediately act on something, sometimes you know it really is best to just wait things out.  The Hanged Man reminds us that the best approach to a problem is not always the most obvious.  Sometimes we have to look at a situation from a whole new perspective and see things in a new light.  When we most want to force something to happen or make someone do what we want, that is when we should release and let go.  When we most want to have our own way, that is when we should sacrifice.  When we most want to act on something, that is when we should wait.  The irony is that by making these moves which are contradictory to what we think we want . . . we end up finding what we really need or what we’re looking for.

LEO:  Reversed High Priestess
Are you trying to act during a time in which you need to wait and be patient, Leo?  Are you second-guessing your intuition?  Try to find a measure of patience at this time, because you may be vulnerable or not yet be aware of something which could cause you to operate under deceiving notions or ideas.

The Reversed High Priestess explains that there is more to something (or someone) than meets the eye.  Thus, don’t choose to ignore what you know deep down to be true.  This is not a time to see only what you want to see.  Let yourself look deeper to see the fact so that you can then accept the truth of a matter.  And it may be that you’ll need a bit of time yet to discover some hidden truths, facts, or revelations before you can willingly trust something or someone that really doesn’t deserve your trust.

Consider what your intuition is trying to reveal so that you can avoid having to later ask yourself, “Why didn’t I listen to myself?  I knew better!”  Although the vision of hindsight is 20/20, foresight is a lot harder to pinpoint unless one really listens to the wisdom of their intuitive responses – and then heeds that inner advice!

VIRGO:  The Hierophant
The Hierophant suggests that it’s a time for just taking care of business . . . tending to routine things, chores, errands, and the commitments you’ve made to others.  This is not a time to be impulsive or rock that proverbial boat, Virgo.  This energy focuses on conformity and fitting in with the crowd – even “facing into the background” so to speak.  Now, this does not imply that you can’t ever do anything unique or something that makes you stand out and be noticed . . . but right now is probably not the best time for that.  It’s a time for being conservative, playing by the rules, and displaying self-discipline.  It is a time where you might be called upon to set a good example for someone else.

The Hierophant holds important keys for you, but it’s important to understand what they are and how to use them first.  Allow time for the Universe to provide you some answers that you seek.  Those answers — the keys — could be a doorway to more happiness for you in the future.  This is a powerful blessing card, giving you all the grace you need to get on with your life or plans.  The Hierophant indicates that blessings are being bestowed upon you, to prepare you for the future . . . so gracefully accept the situation or circumstance and go with the flow.  In time, you will be able to unlock some new doors and will no longer feel that you must just sit on the sidelines and wait.

Tradition is also a part of the energy that surrounds you at this time.  And because of the group or institution elements contained here, it can involve events or situations with schools, churches, family, or any other established and formal structure.  The Hierophant can suggest a church wedding or anything that falls in traditionally accepted ways of society.  It can also show that you or someone you know may be attending a particular church or taking on a certain responsibility out of a sense of obligation to do what is right.  And now is a time when doing the right thing is the best way to proceed in any endeavor.  Once again, the timing is just not right to “rock the boat.”

LIBRA:  Reversed Justice

This month may bring about matters that are not fair – or at least, it all feels unfair to you, Libra.  Reversed Justice is about conflict, problems, disharmony, unfair judgments and decisions . . . and generally an imbalance or some inequality for an issue of concern.  It could be an imbalance on either an internal or an external level that you experience.  Things can feel “out of your hands” for the time being.  You might have to wait on the result of something before you find any sense of peace.

You may become aware of the need to confront a major life circumstance where issues of unfairness, inequality, injustice, poor teamwork, and a lack of cooperation are present.  This could be within your own life where it’s more personal and immediate . . . or it could be in the world around you.  This is a situation, however, that is likely being shown to you for a reason.  You have a responsibility to tend to the problem at hand and do what is reasonably possible to resolve things.  Whether you are being unfair to someone else or to yourself . . .  or whether another is being unfair to you, you are dealing with a situation that seriously needs to be corrected.

In the same token, whether you are the victim of an injustice, the perpetrator of an injustice, or the witness of an injustice . . . your awareness and knowledge of the issue puts responsibility into your hands.  If you don’t do anything at all, but just turn your back on it . . . then essentially, you have become another piece of the problem.

With Justice in reverse, a situation that you thought was settled and decided may suddenly come back to you without the resolutions you thought you had found.  You believed you were finished with an issue, but instead, it returns unfinished.  Perhaps you find yourself as a “victim” of circumstance . . . or you don’t feel that you are getting what you rightfully deserve.

SCORPIO:  Ace of Swords
There is a feeling of triumph to this card, as intense energy flows into determination, ultimately leading to victory.  The Ace of Swords can be seen as victory over problems that you may have been facing recently, signifying the end of a difficult phase.  You can find victory during this month in the resolution of a personal problem . . . or you may find victory through the necessary severing of ties with someone in order to let new beginnings occur.  “Strength in adversity” is a hallmark of this Ace . . . out of bad, something good emerges.

And the Ace of Swords, while it doesn’t promise that you’ll actually gain all the victories you want, is a card of tremendous raw potential.  So it’s what you do with this energy that makes a difference.  It’s an energy that has the potential to take you to successful conclusions as long as you do whatever work is asked of you to achieve a particular goal.  Remember that good communication is important this month, too, so a careful yet powerful choosing of your words can get you more than it would otherwise.  Use your communication skills to your advantage.

The Ace of Swords asks you to cut through all the layers of an issue to get to the truth and heart of the matter.  Understanding comes to you by cutting through confusion and illusion and peeling away the layers of a situation to get to the core of the truth.  You begin to think and communicate differently when you understand what you need to know.  This card shows the beginning of change as well as the beginning of success.

SAGITTARIUS:  9 of Cups
A wish you have may come true for you, Sagittarius.  Something and/or someone is sure to make you feel satisfied and content.  Of course, do remember the old saying:  “be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.”  With that in mind, if you really want to take advantage of the positive energy surrounding you, just be aware of what it is that you truly desire . . . and the rest will take care of itself!

The Nine of Cups represents an energy of desires fulfilled, wishes granted, comfort, and happiness.  It shows a situation of pleasure and satisfaction in getting what you want.  When this wonderful energy makes itself known to you, welcome it with open arms . . . for there’s not much more to say or ask for as life will be treating you well.

Never forget that dreams really can come true!!  This card reminds you of that.  Sometimes the seemingly “impossible” turns out to be a real possibility or opportunity after all.  So through this month, take a look at all the good stuff in your life.  You might just be pleasantly surprised at all the wonderful blessings that come your way.  And what a good feeling that is!!!

CAPRICORN:  3 of Wands
The Three of Wands suggests that your “ships are coming in.”  It’s a card of potential opportunities and expanding horizons.  It seems there is a solid beginning to new directions you seek . . . and even though there may still be much work to do . . . you are laying the necessary foundation for continued success and prosperity.  You may encounter both accomplishment and challenge this month as you move on to the next phase of your developments, projects, or agendas.

There is reason for confidence, enthusiasm, and optimism as you put creative energy to work in making plans, brainstorming for new ideas and possibilities, exchanging ideas with others, and seeking opportunity to build on what you are striving for.  This is also a card about teamwork and forming alliances.  So if you are working on a job, project, or other endeavor, keep in mind that it’s a good time to consider accepting help from others.  It’s not necessary to go it alone if your efforts can be enhanced by what others can contribute to the cause, whatever the “cause” may be for you on a personal level.  If someone offers you help, take them up on it!

The Three of Wands can also be asking you to take the long view.  Don’t react to the heat of the moment, but step back and reconsider.  See how the present fits into the bigger picture.  Dream beyond current limitations.  Be willing to explore a situation further with full awareness of what you are doing, where you want to go, and what you intend to accomplish.

AQUARIUS:  7 of Swords
The Seven of Swords can signify some bad choices.  This is a time to be extremely careful regarding transactions, purchases, or agreements that you engage in.  If something sounds too good to be true, Aquarius, you would be best to assume that it is too good to be true and back away from it.  The conman persona finds his opportunity with the Seven of Swords energy to use trickster methods against those who are the most gullible to fall for his sales pitch.

Someone might not be honest with you about something.  There is a sense of sneakiness in this card . . . and it can mean that you lose out!  So be careful and think twice before committing yourself to a particular transaction, especially when you already feel some reservations about it.

There may be a secret being kept at this time.  Someone may be telling little “white lies” or trying to pull a fast one.  Someone may be trying to take advantage of a loophole if they can find one . . . but this person will deny that he or she is doing any such thing.  The Seven of Swords is an energy in which things are generally not what they seem to be.  Be careful that someone does not take unfair advantage of you.  Be careful, too, that you don’t let yourself buy into ideas or beliefs that have no solid truth supporting them.  You can’t trust everything that you hear at this time.

PISCES:  Knight of Cups
The overall atmosphere this month offers compassion and contentment – and even creativity that emerges from daydreams.   It’s safe to open up your emotions, Pisces, and let others know what you’re feeling . . . and also invite feedback and response from others.  Pay attention to what your intuition has to say and let it guide you.

The focus for you this month, Pisces, is on good friends, social connections, and opportunities to enjoy yourself. It can also be a time for you to think about branching out and trying something different in your life.  At the very least, break your routine a bit and find a way to have some fun.  The action of this Knight’s energy is about taking actions on what you feel.  Listen to your emotions, and pay attention to what your heart and intuition are telling you.

You may find yourself more cheerful and optimistic as you engage in activities that are enjoyable.  You may be laughing more . . . and laughter is very good medicine!  With the change that the Knight of Cups brings, you might be considering a change of residence.  Or a new kind of experience may move into your life — one that lifts your spirits, stirs your compassionate side, and changes your beliefs about what is possible.  You may receive an invitation, opportunity, proposal, or an offer that you are delighted with.  Listen to the whispers of your creative dreams, fantasies, or daydreams.  In a swirl of new beginnings, you may find a way to draw these dreams closer to you.  Make a wish, and then consider that the image of that wish is life’s way of urging you to make it come true.

For this week’s message, I have drawn from the FairyTale Tarot deck.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

Knight of Cups
This week, Mercury Retrograde finally comes to an end – on April 4th.  So while we still have this planetary influence to deal with for a few more days, the Knight of Cups assures us that, overall, it can still be a good week.  With this Knight, it’s safe to open up your emotions and let others know what you are feeling.  Pay attention to what your intuition has to say and let it guide you.

The focus this week is on good friends, social connections, and opportunities to travel or get away from the routine environment.  It’s a time to branch out and try something different . . . especially if you can do it with someone you really care about.  Whether single or committed, focus on your inner feelings, creative instincts, and what it is that makes you happy.  Focus on what you have to offer in the way of assets to any kind of relationship — and what you want to receive in return.

With the Knight of cups, a new source of emotional support may come to you — perhaps at a time when you really need that.  This form of assistance might be something you feel has been lacking.  If nothing else, this energy of caring and compassion may come through some thoughtful and sympathetic advice from someone who is willing to lend you an ear.  Someone may help you move toward happier goals . . . or toward a greater opportunity for real joy.  You are encouraged to experience fun and a chance to “play” at this time.  Let your creative talents come to the surface as well.  This energy can show the sudden development of a creative project or opportunity, or new emotional strength that steers you toward a desired goal.  There is some kind of positive development that you can really feel good about, even if things have not been going well lately.

This Knight tells us that we can expect positive change of some kind, because things are looking up.  You may find a fresh start and new level of experience that is positive and welcome in your life.  Even if it seems that there is some mystery surrounding developments at this time, know that it’s something positive in the making.  It’s not necessary to have every single fact just yet.  With Knight energy, things can be changeable before we finally see the real results, but this is a card that propels things into action . . . and that action is very much associated with positive emotions and feelings of contentment.

You may find yourself more cheerful and optimistic as you engage in activities that are fun.  You may be laughing more . . . and laughter is certainly very good medicine!

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel
