TAROT WISDOM READINGS

This month, I’m using the Rainbow Traveller’s Tarot deck by Carmen Waterman along with Tierney Sadler’s Deck of 1000 Spreads!  The Deck of 1000 Spreads will provide a situation that will be explored through the beautiful Rainbow Traveller’s tarot cards.

In the book that accompanies Tierney’s Deck of 1000 Spreads, she offers many uses for these cards.  You can even make up your own ideas!  I have simply pulled, at random, two cards to use as a focus and topic for 2 tarot cards for each sign.

PISCES:

What to Use in the Future – 6 of Pentacles

Partner – 6 of Swords

Pisces, the focus for you this month involves how you can utilize past-gained assets in the way of partnerships to help you get the most from the partnerships in your life this month and beyond!

The 6 of Swords is showing us a partner of some kind in your life – it could be work, love, friendship, or some other association.  You may find that you want to know more about this person in order for the partnership to either evolve or be released, whichever may be the case.  Honesty with this person is going to be of utmost importance in order to learn whatever you need to know about him or her.

But how do you find out about this person?  How do you get them to talk to you on a more personal or intimate level?  The Six of Pentacles speaks of give and take.  The more generous and open (and genuine and honest!) you are with that person, the more he/she will trust you to open him/herself up and talk.

Think of a past partnership or association where someone was finally willing to trust you and talk to you.  Return to the skills you used to help that person be straightforward with you.  Perhaps you didn’t realize how well you did in communicating with that individual, but there was something of value there that you can once again apply to a current partner in your life – whether it’s a love partnership, a work association, or some other form of partnership.

Blocking/Covering – 9 of Wands

This month’s theme for you, Aries, is all about what is blocking your associations with friends and/or family.  Have you had a “falling out” of sorts with a friend or members of your family?  Whether this has happened on a major or minor level, it can be troublesome.  And if it hasn’t happened to you yet, it’s certainly something to be on the watch for during this month of March!

The 4 of Swords suggests that you may find an inner need to just remove yourself from a friendship or family situation.  You need some down time from the experience.  You have things to think about and work out in regard to an issue with the people you care about.  Or perhaps someone may be causing you to feel left out or pushed out of the “circle” in some way.

The 9 of Wands suggests that you have (or will have) your guard up about these people in your life.  Someone has likely hurt you recently, or this may be an experience you deal with in March.  And the problem is that the more you think about the issues, the more barriers you may subconsciously be putting up around you – even to the point that you become unwilling to forgive or try to work it out with them.

Take a stand for yourself, but know that you can’t properly do this if you put up so many barriers that you shut others out.  Let others know what is acceptable to you and what isn’t.  You’ll fare much better if you do not put yourself in the mode of victim mentality.  You have a right to just be yourself whether others like it or not.

Being you doesn’t have to be such a lonely path.  Remember, you do have the right to choose who your friends and family-like group will be – essentially choosing who you will keep in your circle and whom you will release.

Situation – 5 of Pentacles

Positive Influences – 3 of Pentacles

This month’s topic for you, Taurus, is about financial and material concerns.  With the 5 of Pentacles, these areas may pose a problem for you.  You may be feeling “down and out” or left out in the cold.  If it’s not a financial concern, you may be feeling the sting of a rejection.

Yet generally, the 5 of Pentacles indicates that there is help available, even though times can be tough.  The 3 of Pentacles points to positive influences in a tough situation.  No matter what hardship has befallen you in this month, or what difficulty you might encounter before this month is through, the 3 of Pentacles indicates that you can recover from this hardship (or a rejection, if that is the case) by looking to the people or associates that you share common ground with.  Who are the like-minded folks in your life that you can feel more comfortable to align yourself with?

You need to acknowledge the accomplishments that are happening in your life right now, in addition to recent endeavors that have worked out well.  Perhaps not everything is going as smoothly as you wish – since the 5 of Pentacles is looming in front of you as the situation at hand.  But your experiences this month may be trying to show you another way – and perhaps some new associations for which you’d be a better fit.

They say not to try putting a square peg in a round hole, because it simply doesn’t fit.  If you are trying to involve yourself with groups or situations that are not truly a good fit for you, you’ll miss out on the ones that can be a nice and comfortable fit for your life.  If material concerns are happening because you’ve tried to “keep up with the Joneses,” so to speak, realize that this only hurts you and does not give you any perceived status in the long run.  Just be who you are, take one day at a time, and join with those who share things in common with your own needs and interests this month.

Past Life – 5 of Wands

Hobbies – 3 of Swords

Gemini, for this month the focus points to either a past life situation or lesson — or it will simply portray an experience of your past that can help you discover and nurture the hobbies and talents you have in your present life.

In the past, the 5 of Wands suggests a competitive atmosphere.  It may have been hard to let your talents shine when so many others tried to reach in and take the spotlight.  Situations like this can cause you to feel “not good enough” and unacknowledged.  As you think about past events, you can likely recall some kind of group event that ended up in disorderly chaos with little to show for accomplishment.

The 3 of Swords in the position of Hobbies and Talents can leave you feeling like you don’t have any special skills that stand out enough to be noticed.  You may have tried to share a gift, skill, or talent in the past, but met with little success in doing so.

But ask yourself this, Gemini:  Is the hobby or talent you want to express the one that really fuels your passion?  Or are you pursuing something because you just think it’s what is or will be popular in some way?  The Universe works in odd ways to bring us closer to who we truly are.  And if your past skills have been ignored, realize that there may be some new or untapped talents within you that will be worth exploring this month.  If you’ve felt kind of “washed out” and depressed, that’s a sure sign that you need to engage in and learn something new – and whatever you choose to learn, make sure you love it!

Friendship – Shadows

What to Know – Reversed 7 of Swords

Friendship is the topic for you this month, Cancer.   But be very aware, because it looks like there may be a “shadow friend” in your midst!  This person may tempt you toward things that you know are not right or that don’t feel good to you.  Someone you meet this month may be hiding his or true nature.  This person can be like the sociopath or psychopath who lures you in for their own gain or pleasure – and it comes at your own expense.  You usually won’t realize this until it’s too late.  So let this serve as a warning that you’ll need to carefully evaluate who your real friends are and who is not a real friend to you.

With that said, if you’ve had a falling out with a friend recently, the Reversed 7 of Swords indicates that you may receive an apology from that person.  When someone apologizes to you, look for genuineness in that person.  If that person has been hurting to know that he/she hurt you, it’s genuine.  But if they are merely making apologies out of a sense of obligation or expectation, they probably don’t mean a word of it and could once again proverbially stab you in the back when you aren’t paying attention.

Navigate through your friendships with care this month, Cancer.  By the time this month is done, you’ll likely have some valuable new perspectives about your friends.  You will learn who your real friends are, and you’ll learn who is not a friend.  That awareness can be painful, but it’s necessary to prevent you from being lured into the trappings of a negative association that is hard to escape from once you’re hooked into it.

Leo, if you’ve got love on your mind this month, the Tarot is here to address those questions.  If love isn’t a primary concern for you, then the aspect of “choice” will likely be applicable to you for this month.  And for some of you Leos, you may be encountering choices with regard to a specific relationship.  A few of you may even be questioning whether love will ever come your way.

No matter what your individual question about love is, choice always plays a part in how you shape the future – and how you and a partner will co-create the future of a relationship.  Everything we do today (whether related to love or not) has the potential to change or otherwise influence our tomorrows.  Keep that in mind, Leo!  Your choices have power, so how you decide to make choices this month could have a big impact for you later on.

The 9 of Pentacles comes up as a “surprise” in regard to your love concerns and/or your choices.  You may find that everything around you is good overall, but that something is missing.  What is that “something” for you, Leo?  What is missing for you in an otherwise good life?  Are you ready to take the next steps?  It seems that you are, but you have to be the one to realize how ready you are.

Whatever you need to bring that extra measure of comfort, stability – or even love – it’s up to you to make the choices that will lead you in that direction.  You may discover that what you desire it closer than you thought – or at least more possible to attain that you initially realized.  Make good choices, and you can enhance the abundance and comfort in your life this month.  The power of choice is indeed powerful!

Finances - 10 of Swords

Cons – Protector of Pentacles

Financial concerns may be at the forefront this month, Virgo, and with the 10 of Swords, things look rather shaky.  You may find yourself feeling cheated or somehow “victimized” by financial circumstances.  What or who do you feel is “ruining” you?

It may be time to cut your losses and come to terms with a reduced situation.  Financial difficulties can make you feel like you’ve hit rock bottom.  Asking for help can also feel like a demeaning experience.  But you may need to ask for a little help in order to pick yourself up and start anew.

The good news is that with the number 10, you are reaching the end of a cycle – a phase that has perhaps been difficult or chaotic.  There is light at the end of this tunnel.

While you may need to find some help to gain relief from a rocky situation, the King of Pentacles is shown in the position of “cons” for this situation.  Be careful whom you confide in and/or whom you ask for help.  Be aware, too, that even when you find the right person who can help, you may have to swallow your pride to do it.  It’s usually much easier to be the giver or the helper than it is to be the benefactor or receiver.

Be sure that you ask for help in a way that shows you are not trying to be needy or dependent.  Show someone that you just need a helping hand in order to help yourself, and that person may be a lot more willing to lend you the assistance you need right now.  Whatever help or path of assistance that you use, dear Virgo, times will get better for you once you get past this icky bump in the road.

Health – Reversed 3 of Cups

What to Leave in the Past – Ace of Swords

The Tarot brings health matters to the forefront as a topic of interest this month, Libra.  The Reversed 3 of Cups is telling you that too much of a good thing will not be a good thing for you.  Be careful about over indulging, because excess can lead to some nasty addictions or habits that will be hard to break later.

Food or drink may be the most obvious culprit for many of you Libras this month.  If you are using these as a means to escape a situation of unhappiness, please realize that this is not the way to find real and solid happiness.  In fact, it is quite possible to make a situation worse.  Comfort eating may seem like the right idea for a little while, but your body will resist by growing in ways you don’t want!

To find a state of inner happiness, the Ace of Swords appears to show you something that needs to left in the past.  Something you had hoped would let you start anew or enjoy a new beginning might now be a situation that is no longer available to you.  A new idea, a new relationship, or some new start will not be the right path for you after all.  But this means that you are now free to find another brand new route that is not related to your past.

Physical activity and exercise can be especially beneficial to you, Libra.  Consider joining a gym or establishing a routine at home that you can be happy with.  Your body will thank you for it!

For any Libra ladies who do NOT wish to become pregnant, there is also a strong warning in the cards that you better be using protection if the family lifestyle is not yet one you’re ready for.  So okay . . . you have been warned

What to Take – 9 of Cups

Resolution – 2 of Swords

Scorpio, some happy and fulfilling moments of the past can lead you toward a resolution in the present.  No matter what your current experiences, happiness is available to you!  If things have felt gloomy of late, you may have to dig for pleasurable memories to revive you and remind you that you can be happy once again!  But go ahead and dig, because if you can recall one of the most fulfilling moments in your past, the Tarot is letting you know that you can experience that happiness again!

Look at happy mindsets of the past that you enjoyed experiencing.  You can leverage those moments for the future.  It may just be a matter of tapping into past happy times so that you can gather the faith that such happiness can be there for you now and in the future.  Remember, being or happy is actually a choice, no matter whether external circumstances are helping or hindering you to feel good about yourself and life.

The 2 of Swords indicates that you may have some choices to finally face, and those choices will be a determining factor in achieving a happier state of being.  You might be in a time of waiting before full resolution comes and things are out in the open more completely.  And the choices presented might not be easy ones to make.  But realize that if you don’t face some temporary discomfort now in making some new choices, you will only make yourself feel even more “stuck” in life.  Are you willing to confront some temporary discomfort for the sake of gaining what you want in life?  It will be worth it, so I hope you’re willing, Scorpio!

The Heart of the Situation for you this month, Sagittarius, are loving connections and finding genuine happiness in life and among family.  It seems you are reaching a point of making dreams come true in your world – at least, you are certainly doing all you can to achieve this.  Give yourself credit for your efforts.  Contemplate on how love factors in to your accomplishments, too.

Love, happiness, and a good home and family life are at the heart of the 10 of Cups – and at the heart of an important situation in your life right now.  This Moon represents you and your attitudes and energies that you are applying in a situation right now.  This shows you moving out of an emotionally deceptive situation and seeing things a lot more clearly than you did before.

This is a beneficial change in attitude that will help dry any tears and put a smile back on your face.  You are no longer dealing with the torment of whatever demons have been haunting you.  Love truly can win in difficult situations.  So while you may have been dealing with illusions recently, you can now find the truth as certain secrets and information will be revealed to you.  These revelations will help you create a stronger sense of happiness and family harmony that you’ve been striving to attain.

You’ll still need to work on maintaining control of emotions that want to go awry, Sagittarius.  Don’t let your imagination run away with you now – not when you’ve come this far in your endeavors!  Be honest with yourself and with others.  And know that you can trust your intuition, even if you felt lately that you couldn’t.

The Tarot shows a focus on work for you this month, Capricorn – specifically in matters with coworkers.  You may be dealing with some strong-minded and decisive coworkers this month.  Some might even seem short with you or blunt.  But don’t take it all so personally.  Keep the work setting in mind, and know that if you are given constructive criticism by a Protector of Swords personality at work, this can be beneficial to you.  Someone has your best interests at heart in the work setting, but you may have a hard time using the information to your advantage – because you might be too busy focusing on how a message was so bluntly delivered, without any seeming consideration for feelings.

So put emotions aside and see what messages from coworkers or colleagues may be the very messages that give you a gem in terms of information you can use to your advantage.  Let constructive criticism be the growth for you that it’s meant to be.  You may also see how you gain respect for using such information wisely.  Others may complain and say that someone is being too nit-picky or demanding . . . but you can be the one who gets that “aha moment” and makes it all work to your benefit!

Hopes and Fears – 2 of Wands

Clarification – Reversed Hermit

Aquarius, something you are hoping for might not come about as quickly as anticipated.  Your hopes could literally turn fearful if you let your imagination get too overactive.  Look at this month as one that is best suited for planning and creating good strategies for the moment when things start picking up and becoming more active.

For now, there might not be a lot actively happening, and it can get frustrating when you’re ready to get on with it already.  You hold hope about the possibilities in front of you, yet you may be fearful as you wonder how and when you’ll get there.

The Reversed Hermit is the clarifier card with regard to the hopes and fears that prevail in your mind right now.  It’s telling you that, although there will be a time of waiting – or some down time – you do have control over the situation, and things will finally start moving.  Upright, the Hermit is more withdrawn or isolated, as he studies a situation.  But when he shows up reversed, things are starting to come out into the light and are starting to move again.  You might not immediately see it, but things are changing.

Use your current down time to learn all you can about the situation that brings you both hopes and fears.  Bide your time, and finally, the light will shine in a way that puts matters into better perspective.  You will finally see a situation through new eyes.  Whatever is making you feel fussy and complaining will come to an end if you give it time.  Find the positives in your circumstances, and learn what you can through these experiences.

This month, I’m using Tarot and Lenormand to bring us insights for each of the Sun signs.  Both of the decks I am using were created by our much loved artist and designer, Ciro Marchetti.

Incidentally, our beloved artist, Ciro Marchetti, will be retiring from the world of Tarot and Oracles.  So in honor of this amazing artist, I present our February 2013 insights with two brilliant decks that he has created.

Tarot: 5 of Cups + The Hanging Man

Aquarius, the theme for you this month focuses on happy family gatherings and traditions.  It’s about the happiness you find through close and extended family and the traditions that you enjoy with them.

The 5 of Cups and the Hanging Man suggest an “emotional limbo” of sorts.  Perhaps you’ve been on the “outs” with someone in your extended family, and you’re not so sure you could enjoy a happy reunion with them.  But it could work out better than you expect.

All is not as lost as it feels like in this moment.  Keep an open mind to the possibilities.  Let go of the baggage.  Allow yourself to enjoy the connections that are available to you.

If you choose to avoid those who have hurt you, you’re really only allowing them to win.  You’ll be missing out on something, and it would then only be you who is responsible for such losses.  It’s time for a new perspective on what family means to you and how you can achieve a more positive experience with the ones you love.

Problems or confusion in a partnership, relationship, or a contract will be clearing up, Pisces. The relationship is secure which affords the ability to work through issues when they come up.  Focus on the value of that partnership to help you see past the confusing issues that can arise.

The 3 of Wands indicates that your ships are coming in! If you have been dealt a confusing hand with regard to a relationship, partnership, or a contract of some kind, pay attention to the details.  Those details matter a lot at this time, and they can make all the difference.

There is opportunity to start anew on the right track if you’ve found yourself off course or otherwise confused.  Work with others and promote teamwork.

Be practical, be patient, and see what new things you can learn from the experiences with your important associations.  The lessons will help you form positive alliances and focus on the value that those offer.

Tarot:  Queen of Pentacles + Strength

Your focus for February, Aries, is on the happiness that love can bring.  If you’re single, you may find yourself suddenly falling for someone.  If you’re already in a relationship, you may suddenly feel a stronger connection.  Things are happy, and this is especially welcome if you’ve encountered a difficult time recently.

With the presence of the Scythe here, you may have been hurt, but the cutting point of that Scythe is facing in the other direction, meaning that the danger of sharing your heart is now passing.

Thus, it’s safe for you to love again, Aries – even if you’ve been recently hurt in matters of the heart.  The Queen of Pentacles puts you on firmer footing now. Let your inner strength shine so that you can enjoy the romantic opportunities that come your way.

Don’t be afraid – just open up your heart, and go for it

I won’t kid you, Taurus – there may be some difficulties up ahead this month.  You may find yourself in a situation where you are out of options or alternatives.  You might also be turning down offers, or you’re simply afraid of making a choice for fear it may be the wrong one.

The Reversed Ace of Pentacles shows us an opportunity could be missed.  If you’re turning down offers at this time, make sure you are doing so for the right reasons.

Opportunity will be there with the Empress, but you may be afraid to make a change or try to move forward – especially if you feel like you have no choices in front of you.  Thus, it can be hard to identify the opportunities that are real versus those that don’t have the capacity to get you anywhere.

Instead of just throwing your hands up in the air and calling it quits, Taurus, look to those who can offer you some support, guidance, and encouragement during the challenging times.

Tarot:  King of Wands + 8 of Swords

A focus for you this month, Gemini, is group travel or commutes that are problematic.  You may experience controversy about travel matters, or you may find yourself uncomfortable with a carpool situation.  Confusion about travel and who you travel with may have to get sorted out – whether it’s for a special trip or whether it’s a daily commute situation.

The King of Wands suggests that you’ll need to take control of this situation, but with the 8 of Swords energy from the Tarot here, you may feel like you’re backed into a corner without any good options in front of you.

So you can either choose to stay in the rut that is causing you discomfort . . . or you can take a stand and make some new “executive decisions.”  The former option will certainly not change anything, and the latter option will require you to address the issues head-on, which can certainly give rise to further complications.

But the only way you’ll ultimately feel settled about what confuses you or bothers you this month is by going straight through the problem to get to the other side.  It’s time to take charge and get yourself out of the stuck mess you find yourself in.  You might not feel you can take action, but action will be the only way to settle things.

Deceptive news may be at the forefront of things this month, Cancer.  You probably can’t trust everything that comes to your attention.  This may relate to job issues with both Fox and Moon presiding in this Lenormand trio.  Are you chasing the wrong dreams and goals?  Is it a form of self-deception that is leading you astray?

The Page of Wands indicates that you may be eager to get started on something – perhaps something brand new for which you feel passionately about.  But if you jump right in without doing your homework, Cancer, you may somehow feel like you’ve missed the boat and aren’t getting what you bargained for.

The 4 of Cups brings a gift or an opportunity that you could easily overlook.  Make sure that you aren’t looking in the wrong direction, as you could miss your chance for something that will suit you well.  Don’t deceive yourself by untrustworthy information.  Get the facts, and you’ll know what the real opportunities are and what the illusions are.

Illusions with regard to someone’s reputation may come up for attention, Leo.  You might have some pretty high expectations for something or someone, but is this realistic for the situation?

The Wheel shows us that something is changing and evolving.  On the surface, it looks like everything should be great.  But there’s a significant problem here nevertheless.  Everyone may be fighting against you or trying to push you in a different direction.  You may find that you have to really stand your ground and defend yourself.  And you may even have to defend your reputation on some level as well.

Making desired changes will require a lot of effort on your part.  Just make sure you are approaching things honestly and ethically so that nothing can come back later to bite you in the @ss.  Know what you believe in first and foremost.  Understand your own values.  Then you can take a stand for the right things that are worth fighting for.

This month, Virgo, you may be trying to get into a club, group, or some organization, but you find that you’re met with blocks or resistance to get what you want.  You may have delays in response time as you wait on an answer that you hope will be an acceptance letter.  For now, that lack of “acceptance” might be blocking your ability to participate with a group that you wanted to be a part of.

Instead of focusing solely on where you can’t get in, Virgo, focus where you are already welcome and well-received.  There are groups around you, including your own family and friendships, that are already welcoming you into the circle.

Libra, you may be facing some complications with family (and/or in love matters) this month.  These cards speak of entangled relationships.  It may be with an older woman who is causing some disruption or problems.  The Sun brings light to any deceptions and illuminates who this is in your life.  So if you don’t know who this is right now, by month’s end, you’ll know then.

You may be carrying quite the heavy load, but the 10 of Wands indicates you can’t keep going on this way.  If you don’t get some help or delegate some responsibilities, things are going to collapse.  You may even be carrying the load for an older female, just because you’re nice like that.  But will it pay to be nice at your own detriment?

The King of Swords encourages you to get firm about this. Exercise discipline for a fairer distribution of responsibilities.  You will be called upon this month to make some important decisions as a leader on some level. The Knight of Swords suggests that something is moving fast, and that corresponds to the quick time table of the Clover above.  Something can come in quite quickly and unexpectedly, so you have to take advantage of it immediately . . . or watch it pass you by.

Be swift in taking action this month. Get things done, and go for what you feel passionately about.  It’s not a time to hang back in the shadows and be shy.  You have to step forward.  A friend may help you discover an opportunity or some lucky find that you’ll be grateful for.  You’ll have reasons to get excited this month.  Watch carefully for news that is coming your way – because you don’t want to miss out on what it will offer.

Each week, I pull a card from a random Tarot deck to bring us a message or piece of wisdom that we can think about or use in our lives on some level – if not now, we can refer back to it when it seems to be more fitting for us.  This is food for thought, and not drawn for any one particular person or situation.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

Judgement
The message of Judgment is clear:  You are being called to do something.  You might not want to hear the message and may be actively drowning it out with the noise of your daily life.  You might be afraid of the call and the changes it will bring.  Listen to this call and face it with courage and action.  It promises something more fulfilling if you will listen to its wisdom.

Now is a time for renewal.  You can clear away the debris of the past and begin again in some area of your life.  You are able to let go of something if you desire to do so.  This applies to whichever area of your life that you choose.  Release unwanted ties to the past.  It’s also a perfect time to forgive.  Hear “the present” calling to you now . . . and allow yourself to start over and create new and better beginnings.

You have an opportunity to reawaken to who you really are!  Any trials and tribulations that you have gone through have happened to help you develop the ability to bring out the best in yourself.  By bringing your best to the surface, you can also help others do this for themselves as well.

If you are involved in any lawsuits or legal issues at this time, the energy indicates a positive outcome for you.  A trouble that you’ve been dealing with seems to be nearing its end.  You will soon find to an end to an experience where you can judge the work (yours and/or that of another) as complete and successful.  You will likely also feel a sense of release and renewal in the process.

The energy surrounding you this week shows a situation of following your own judgment and seeing the consequences of your choices and actions.  You may be resolving doubts, answering questions, evaluating accomplishments . . . and being satisfied (or at least at peace) with what you find.  A significant time of critical decisions may be at hand where you will judge the value or success of what you have done or what you have become . . . and you will likely be pleased with what you see, or at least you’ll know where course adjustments are needed to get back on the right track.

The card of Judgement is, in a real sense, like “Judgement Day” . . . as you prepare to release something major in your life and move in a new direction to answer what is calling out to you.  Of course, you need to first acquire a vision and understanding of what you’ve been doing right, as well as what you may want to refine, change, do differently, or improve upon.  Be insightful and receptive as you review the history and development of a present situation.  You can see what has worked and what didn’t work with efforts of the past.  Be objective and fair in the conclusions you reach . . . and let yourself experience the rewards of acting wisely.  This process can be like a rebirth as you transform yourself through the choices of change that are calling out for your attention.
