Question from Lola: “I am in love with a man I met a while back, but he lives in Houston.  He is very into God and very focused on his business.  He says that if God grants him me for him, he would be the luckiest man on earth.  I want to know if he really does have feelings for me, or if he is just telling me what I want to hear.  I feel such a connection to him that I have never felt for anyone before, and we have never met in person.  Thank you so much for allowing me to participate!!  God Bless You!!”

5 of Wands – The Hierophant – The Lovers

I have done this reading on the basis of a Feelings/Intentions/Advice layout.

The only real problem at present, Lola, is that the two of you haven’t met yet – and this needs to happen in a safe public place so that you both will have an opportunity to connect on an in-person basis to explore how you truly feel about one another.  The 5 of Wands shows us that his feelings contain a struggle, and that may very well be because he hasn’t met you, nor have you met him.  Until you and he actually meet, it will be hard for a relationship to come together on a genuine basis.

His intentions, however, seem honorable with the Hierophant. He seems to be a man who is ready to settle down.  With this card, followed by the Lovers, he seems like a marriage-minded kind of guy.  But again, to get rid of this struggle and confusion in the area of feelings, the two of you will obviously need to finally meet.  But do consider doing this safely, Lola, when the opportunity arises.

The advice of the Lovers speaks of a choice to be made.  Obviously there will be choices about when and where the two of you might meet in order to create the opportunities to truly get to know one another.  This card encourages you to make healthy relationship choices.  It encourages you and this man to find a way to meet to decide once and for all if you still feel the connection in-person as you feel across the distance.

This is something to pursue if you continue to be interested, Lola.  But work on erasing the confusion of the 5 of Wands so that you can choose a clear direction that feels good for you.  If you both feel the same upon getting to know one another in person, this relationship has the potential to become a solid one.

This week’s question is from Deanna: “I’ve been unemployed for a year now.  Do you see me finding work within the next few months?”

6 of Pentacles – The Hanged Man – The Moon

The Six of Pentacles is promising for acquiring a new job position, Deanna.  But I don’t think this is going to happen within the “next few months.”  It looks like the wait will be a little longer, as the Hanged Man suggests that things are still suspended for a little while.

You have been out of work for a year now, and the Hanged Man’s number is 12.  The Moon’s energy is 18, so if we add six months to your total time of unemployment, this could be indicating that your time of unemployment will be about 18 months.  So I am thinking that a new job will come to you in about 6 months from now.

The Moon also indicates that there may be an untapped resources that you haven’t seen yet in terms of opportunities.  Perhaps there is something you have overlooked because you didn’t think you would qualify, or you didn’t think you would like it.  Take a second look at any of those types of options, because you might find a gem in there.  Things are not always as they seem on the surface with Moon energy.

Knight of Swords – 10 of Wands – 3 of Pentacles

The first thing that came to my mind upon seeing the determined Knight of Swords is “looking for love in all the wrong places.”  This energy can be bold and aggressive, but it’s not a settled energy.  It can actually be somewhat scattered, suggesting that you might be trying too hard – and with the 3 of Pentacles here, too, it may be helpful to be involved with group and community activities where men are present, too.  With the Knight of Swords, it’s also like pushing against the wind or trying to swim against a current, as you could encounter men who aren’t the committing type or who are otherwise unavailable.

If you are already being active in groups, clubs, or community activities, then this is great, and you are on the right track. And it will be a matter of letting love find you in a natural kind of way – versus trying so hard to find it and make it happen.  It does require a lot of patience at times, especially since you need a partner who is on the same page with you and perhaps shares some of the same goals in life that you have.

The 10 of Wands in the center shows us that trying to get to your goal of finding love can start feeling like a burden.  You may become frustrated – but don’t give up, because 10 energy suggests that you are reaching the end of a cycle so that you can begin a new one.  But you may need to let yourself relax a bit more and engage in activities for the pure fun of it. In other words, when you decide to go out, don’t go with the mindset that you are going for the purpose of finding a potential partner.  That sort of “expectation” can truly spoil the party and leave you in disappointment. When you least expect it, a friendship could show signs of potential to become more.  Love could creep up on you when you’re not really looking for it

This week’s question is from Pamela: “There are things I need – a newer vehicle, but I really want a home of my own. Will I be able to buy a home or mobile home anytime soon?  Thank you!”

King of Swords – 8 of Cups – Page of Wands

We’re not looking at a bad situation here by any means, Pamela.  But one thing I am not seeing is a major purchase in the cards that would accommodate buying a home soon.  The 8 of Cups in the center of this reading, however, can suggest a move – although it may be moving to a different rental perhaps.  It might also be suggesting that you may move on to other plans and ideas that can ultimately get you what you want.  But I’m just not getting a feeling of “soon” for buying a new home of your own.

Instead, the Tarot is showing us discipline in the King of Swords.  This likely relates to setting your priorities and being even more disciplined with yourself so that you can create a budget and a plan for how you can eventually purchase the home you want.  This King advises practical and prudent choices with regard to money and transactions.  So this can also mean that, as much as you want to buy a house, you might come to see that the car should come first.  This is about setting priorities in a logical and practical manner – and doing so with firmness and discipline so that you will put yourself in a position to execute your plans at the right time.

I often think of the King of Swords in comparison to a Chess game – because there is a right time to make certain moves and a wrong time if you want to stay in the game.  But if you maneuver your pieces with the right strategy, you can finally zero in on what you want.

The Page of Wands represents new inspiration and motivation that can help you pave the way for a future home, but this energy is still new and not yet evolved enough to make it feasible to purchase a home in the near future.  This is part of the planning process, but also the excitement that goes with it when you know you are working toward something you really want.  So the Tarot tells us that it’s still possible for you to eventually buy a house, but you may need to get some things in order first.  It’s a time to do some serious goal-setting so that you will be ready and prepared for that exciting day in the more distant future.  It is something you can make happen, although realistically, the Tarot isn’t suggesting to us that it will be soon.

 The High Priestess – 4 of Wands – The Fool

The High Priestess encourages you to listen to your instincts in your upcoming year.  Trust what you feel, because even though there will be times that it seems that something just isn’t happening or progressing, things are still churning behind the scenes with this energy.  Something may ask you to hold back for a bit, and if your patience is put to the test in this manner, it’s because more is meant to unfold to finally allow you to see what was previously hidden. And those unknown elements can make a big difference in what you will choose.  It can be like a time of waiting, but during that period, you will be able to gather facts and information that are important for you to be aware of.

You need not try to force something into what you want it to become – just bide your time and let the High Priestess work her magic for you.  This will help you prevent costly mistakes as well.  This is a fertile energy, so things are brewing, but you just have to wait a bit for things to finish percolating.

The 4 of Wands shows us a happy situation with the home or family!  If you are considering a move, this is a great energy for that.  But either way, Michele, this card indicates having reasons to celebrate.  You may enjoy family reunions or other events that bring you together with people you love or that otherwise mean a lot to you.  So there is some fun and a bit of “party” energy going on for you to enjoy in your upcoming year.  There will be a lot of things to be thankful for.  And you may also receive “congratulations” for something you accomplish

The Fool shows us something new coming into your life.  This could be a new job, a new relationship, or something else – depending on your situation.  It’s something that you can embrace with enthusiasm as you make a new start with something.  You might not have all the answers as you get started, but not to worry!  The Fool assures you that you’ll find what you need as you go along.  Thus, don’t ever think that you can’t get started with something just because you think you need to have everything in front of you to begin an endeavor.  The Fool tells us that is a silly way to think – and it’s really just a “perfect excuse” that we human beings use in order to put off doing something we really wanted to do.  Remember the Fool’s wise advice which is this:  “It’s not the things we did in life that we will regret most…it’s the things we didn’t do or try that will bring us the most regret.”

Life coaching sounds good to me because I can get a certificate faster than being educated to become a therapist. Do you think I will find a good online program? I am overseas for two years, so can’t do anything in class. Please help me out. I would truly appreciate it.”

10 of Pentacles – 5 of Cups – 7 of Cups

The 10 of Pentacles indicates that support is available for you in your endeavors to be a life coach or a therapist – whichever area you truly want to be in.  Usually, when we feel called to something, it’s what we are meant to do. But so often, people will deny that calling through one excuse or another as to why they “can’t” achieve it.  So I think it’s important that you know – if this is what you truly want – then there will indeed be a way for you to get it, Nancy!  The potential for success is there, and your idea is viable and valuable!  So definitely don’t just “sit” on the idea, because the power of this idea will take shape once you begin to actualize this dream.

To fully embrace your life purpose, the 5 of Cups indicates that you need to get clear about whether you really want to be a coach OR a therapist – because as you know, the two will have differences.  Don’t go for the option that seems easiest or fastest if it’s not genuinely the path you want to take.  If you opt for one thing because it seems the faster way, you could be disappointed to learn that it’s still going to take time. And thus, you might as well work toward what you truly want to be doing so that you don’t end up with any regrets.

The 7 of Cups indicates that there will be many choices available for you – and you may be surprised at what you can do online.  There will be a lot of choices and options for you to research in order for you to find what will be the right fit for you personally.  If you want to study online, whether for a degree or for a certificate, research what is out there.  You may find that there isn’t a lack of resources – but perhaps instead an abundance of choices that will require you to thoroughly research the options in order to get the opportunity that is right for you.  It doesn’t seem that there will be a lack here, but instead, many possible directions you could take.  So do your research, even though that will take time in itself.  Getting what is right for you is important, and later, you’ll be glad you took the time to assess things properly.

This week’s question is from Sara: “My question is about my finances. I just got sued by the bank for not paying the credit card bill. I am panicking as i don’t have a job. And my husband’s job could be in danger as he works for government and has a security clearance. I take 100% responsibility for all this. I am worried that do you think if we negotiate with bank, they will come to some kind of terms with us that will avoid me to appear in the court and go to jail.  Thanks so much!”

Ace of Swords – 5 of Wands – The Tower

Sara, let me first tell you that I don’t feel you are going to jail over this matter.  It’s important to put your focus on the new beginnings of the Ace of Swords.  This card represents your situation right now.  And while I can clearly see this is very uncomfortable and challenging for you in the 5 of Wands and the Tower card energy, there is an opportunity for finding a “breakthrough” in the situation, as things stand right now.  But you need to contact the bank quickly and make a good-hearted attempt to work with them – and document your calls to them and who you have spoken to . . . so that if it does end up going to court, you’ll have proof that you tried to work things out and take care of the matter.

The 5 of Wands suggests to me that the bank may get quite pushy with you – and perhaps not seem all too willing to work with you.  So you are going to need to be firm with them (but polite, of course).  Let them know that while you would rather resolve this out of court, if court and the associated expenses are what they really want, then you also intend to stand up for yourself in court because you are trying to work it out and seek resolution first.  The thing is, Sara, if you can go ahead and make some kind of payment and show good faith efforts immediately, this will look better on you in the end.  This is the advice card, and it’s asking you to find a way to work around the struggle – but also be willing to stand up for yourself in the same manner.

I am definitely feeling like there are going to be delays in any court process if it happens.  As things stand in the moment, Sara, the Tower suggests that this could end up in the courts – unless you are able to convince the bank otherwise before then.  But remember, while court sounds like a very scary thing, the judge is not going to incarcerate you. (And if the bank people get too darn cocky in the whole matter, the judge will be ticked off at them, not you!) In today’s modern era, we’ve long since moved beyond “debtor’s prison.”

With the Tower card, I can see a lot of discomfort in front of you to work through this issue, but this energy puts people outside (and not inside, as in behind the bars of a jail).  This card is a huge eye opener, and I think you’ve already learned the lessons the hard way and can stop beating yourself up over this.  While you will ultimately have to pay for this debt, and the bank may threaten liens of your personal property in some way, look to the new beginnings and breakthrough in the Ace of Swords.  There will be a way “out” of this problem, although the struggle may feel quite daunting before you finally see your way to the outside of this matter.

As a side note, keep in mind that we are in Mercury Retrograde through April 4th.  Things may actually feel more clearer to you once we get out of this difficult planetary phase, and it’s possible that you could find a job opportunity that will help you with this current struggle.  So don’t give up, Sara!  The cards show that this is a pretty heavy challenge for you right now, but if you will focus on the breakthrough and ultimate resolution, you will get through this — and you’ll be wiser for it in so many ways   The important thing is not to let yourself be pushed around.  Keep seeking a new job, and keep an open mind with faith that this is ultimately going to work out.
