Tarot To Go – Sun Sign Tarot-Scopes for December 2011

Here are the Tarot-Scopes by Sun Sign for the month of December. For this feature, I am using traditional Western Sun signs of the zodiac, but if you’re curious what your Vedic Astrology Sun sign is, check out the Vedic Astrology Sun Signs page and compare. If your Vedic Sun sign is different than your traditional Western sign, you might even see how both of the energies listed below could apply to you – or perhaps one may be more prominent for you than the other.

Keep in mind that a single card pulled for a given sign will not represent everything you experience during the month. It is a significant theme of the month that you will probably see or relate to in one way or another. But it’s not the sum of the whole. It is, however, one important aspect or theme that the Tarot wants to bring to the attention of each Sun Sign.

This month, I decided to do something a little different. I have used two decks: one is the non-traditional Tarot deck called “The Wolf Pack Tarot,” and the other is an oracle deck called “The Deck of Shadows.” I have used them in combination for each of the Sun Signs to bring us expanded messages and insights.

While the Wolf Pack Tarot Deck is called a deck of Tarot cards, some would argue that it’s not truly Tarot. It does have 78 cards, but there are no major or minor arcana cards, nor any suit classifications. However, it’s a deck that I have found to work very well for asking questions and gaining insight. The Wolf Pack Tarot Deck is by Robert Petro and illustrated by Pat Morris. It was published in 1995.

The Deck of Shadows is a fascinating deck of 54 black and white oracle cards by Scott Grossberg. This is also a deck that works a lot like Tarot. The cards are named after the suits of a deck of playing cards. It’s a deck that can work on its own, or it can be used with other cards to add additional depth or another angle to an interpretation. I am subscribed to Scott Grossberg’s newsletter, and he sends out interesting ideas, spreads, and other topics of interest relating to the tarot and divination. ARIES: Healing / Faith (9 of Clubs)

Wolf Pack Tarot – Healing: “Healing from an old injury. Now is the time for mental, physical and soul healing. Seek solitude. Nurture yourself. Rest and let yourself heal. The process takes at least 5 months. Then once again, the doorways will open in your life.”

Deck of Shadows – Faith: “A firm and impregnable belief in a power greater than one’s self.” Courage – Prayer – Creativity

Combo Meaning for Aries: Healing can take place if you have faith, Aries. It’s time to let go and heal from past hurts and injuries. To start the healing process, you first need to have the courage to confront those painful episodes of the past. Bring them out into the warmth and safety of the day and the light . . . and be willing to let go. Know that sometimes healing can take up to 5 months – especially for the more serious blows in life. But once you have allowed your faith and prayer to help you rise above, you will find that new doors open up in your life.

It’s okay to take some time in solitude just for yourself, Aries. Work on creative projects this month, which will also aide in any healing process you are undergoing. Nurture yourself. Love yourself.

TAURUS: Gifts / Pursuit (Ace of Clubs)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “Someone may offer you nourishment spiritually or emotionally. A time to receive gifts, legacies. A time to develop talents. Could indicate a time in your life to learn how to receive, be it friendship, money, or a kind word.”

Deck of Shadows: “A search, tracking or shadowing someone or something in order to overtake or catch the object of the hunt; a selfish activity.” Race – Goal – Chase

Combo Meaning for Taurus: Be in pursuit of your personal gifts this month, Taurus! You’ve got a mission, and it’s all about finding, exploring, and accepting all the gifts that come into your life and that you currently hold. This is a great time for you to develop your talents. It’s also a great time to work on the development of friendships. Through association with others this month, you will find how good it feels to be a giver and a receiver. What a great time of year to enjoy the aspects of giving and receiving.

Just watch out for the shadow side that can come with certain goals, Taurus. Don’t engage in self-serving activities for the sake of getting ahead. You won’t enjoy the true gifts available if you are only looking out for what you will get – and not also considering what you can and should be giving to others. And when it comes to business, don’t ever sacrifice long-term potential gains for the short-term profits that won’t sustain you in the long-run. Think about the bigger picture, too!

GEMINI: Emotion / Rivalry (5 of Clubs)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “You may find you are in a situation almost over your head, and change must happen for you to survive. Learn from experience, seek counseling.”

Deck of Shadows: “Contention and challenge with someone or something you hope to defeat; polarized combatants.” Parity – Argument – Competition

Combo Meaning for Gemini: You may encounter some competition, argument, or emotional rivalry this month, Gemini. How are you going to handle this? If it’s a matter of love, remember that true love will stand up for itself – you don’t really have to “fight” for it. If you do, it might not truly be worth it to you.

Competition can also arise in the workplace, or when many others are seeking the same job or position that you want. All you can do is show your best and be authentic. If you feel defeated, it’s time to change those attitudes! Know that if you don’t get what you thought you wanted . . . it really only means that you are being saved for something better. This applies for matters of both love and work. Don’t feel like you need to “outdo” everyone else at this time. Because really . . . to whom are you trying to prove something — yourself, or someone else?

CANCER: Stranded / Death (Jack of Diamonds)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “You may feel stranded financially or emotionally with no help from anyone. You may also feel cut off and out of touch. Take time to think of new plans for the future. Have faith and trust yourself.”

Deck of Shadows: “The apparent end of a thing or person.” Transition – Tears – Lies

Combo Meaning for Cancer: Cancer, if you’re trying to pick at “old bones” of the past, you’re only going to feel stuck and stranded. Life will keep moving on without you. If you are one who cannot accept change so well, get some help! Trust yourself and have faith that you can move forward a lot better than you can try going backwards or living in the past.

Even if you are feeling financially and/or emotionally stuck without help from anyone, now is the time to think of new plans that can change and transform your future. But you have to start now. Come out of the past, and live in the present. By doing so, you can secure yourself a more stable future. Living in the past is like cheating the gift of the present. If you’re doing this, don’t lie to yourself about it. Admit it so that you can change it! Face the facts that some things have ended and changed in your life. And those endings are the cue for your needed transition into new doors of opportunity.

LEO: Obstacles / Unity (2 of Hearts)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “You will encounter obstacles at this time. The solution is not to expect defeat, but to find answers. Rely on your inner strength to overcome this situation. You will become wiser from this experience.”

Deck of Shadows: “Complete wholeness or totality with someone or something; can represent the mastery of life.” Convergence – Marriage – Adaptation

Combo Meaning for Leo: This month, Leo, you may encounter some obstacles in attaining a union or partnership that you desire. This could relate to love, or it could be in relation to work or career matters. It can relate to any group that you want to be a part of, but you can’t seem to get in.

Once you successfully overcome the obstacles standing between you and someone or something else, Leo, you can create a more desirable union or partnership in your life. Look for answers and solutions that will bring things together in productive ways. But know that you need to resolve or settle the obstacles in order to become united with what you are seeking. You’ve got the potential to successfully resolve whatever needs some work or attention. If you’re willing to apply the effort and the right mindset, you can get where you want to be. You can literally “tie the knot” in whatever ways you seek.

VIRGO: Temptation / Quest (6 of Spades)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “At this time, you may be tempted to take a risk or spend money you cannot afford. Or, you may become attracted to a person who is married or committed. Avoid temptation at this time.”

Deck of Shadows: “Seeking someone or something out of duty, wonder or desire to know; the creation of a new identity or self.” Search – Utopia – Curiosity

Combo Meaning for Virgo: Be careful about what tempts you this month, Virgo! Your curiosity may get the better of you, so don’t be the “curious cat,” because you know the story behind what curiosity did to the cat. That isn’t a literal implication, but just know that temptations may come your way, so you need to be very clear about what exactly you are searching for. What is your real quest?

If you engage in relationships at this time where you and/or the other person is already committed to someone else, don’t expect anything more than short-term gratification to arise from that experience. Additionally, be careful with money matters this month. Think of your bigger goals in relation to how you are spending and budgeting your money right now. This is a month when many of us tend to spend too much. Try to stay away from temptation as much as you can this month, because those temptations can get in the way of your real quest in life. Temptations can hang you up or create delays – to the point where you feel trapped. Don’t create a self-made prison for yourself, Virgo . . . because it doesn’t have to be that way if you choose wisely.

LIBRA: Good Advice / Evil (Jack of Spades)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “It will be necessary for you to seek good advice at this time, because your personal judgment cannot be trusted. Look to those you trust and respect, such as a lawyer, doctor, broker, or family member.”

Deck of Shadows: “A person or place or thing that unqualifiedly causes damage, devastation, and misfortune; the corrupting of an innocent person to the dark side.” Ingratitude – Hell – Iniquity

Combo Meaning for Libra: In order to avoid negativity this month, Libra, you may need to seek some wise guidance for some area of your life. Good advice can be obtained from counselors, lawyers, doctors, financial advisors, etc., depending on your specific needs and situation. Even a family member may have some wise advice to share. You may not feel like you can trust yourself, and while we do need to trust what we feel, sometimes we just need a little help to sort out those feelings.

Don’t feel like you have to wander off into the “dark” all by yourself, Libra. Get some help when you need it. There is no shame in asking for help. The only shame would be to not ask for help when you feel like you are going through “hell” all alone and don’t understand what is happening and why. Answers are available, so reach out for them from those who can share their wisdom with you.

SCORPIO: Waste / Destiny (8 of Diamonds)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “You cannot afford to create waste in your life. Take nothing for granted because you could experience sudden famine due to carelessness (i.e. money, health, time).”

Deck of Shadows: “The inevitable happening of something.” Deserve – Karma – Serendipity

Combo Meaning for Scorpio: Scorpio, your message this month is quite clear. Waste not, want not! This is not the time to be wasteful with your time, money, or your health! It’s not the time for careless acts. You are the one who is in charge of creating your own destiny, and if you’re living a life of waste and taking a lot for granted . . . don’t expect fate to hand you great things on a silver platter. You will reap what you sew. Waste will render your nothing, but it will be a fate that you have played a hand in creating.

So work on any area of your life this month where you feel like you may be wasting. Consider what you might be taking for granted. You have the potential to change a situation into something better through your own actions. And thus, you are not nailed to one specific destiny. You can create what you want, and you will get what you deserve in the process. Make sure you are creating positive karma so that there will be rewards in your future – not the consequences of lack because of waste and a lack of appreciation for the resources you have and use.

SAGITTARIUS: Truth / Cross the Threshold (5 of Spades)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “Demanding or confessing the truth my force you to face a situation that you are not ready to deal with at this time. It could be painful, seek guidance. Or, by telling the truth, you can now start to heal.”

Deck of Shadows: “The decision to move from one place or state of being to another in order to fulfill one’s destiny or fate; moving from familiar to the unfamiliar.” Distance – The Way – Pledge

Combo Meaning for Sagittarius: Sagittarius, it’s time to get completely honest with yourself and others this month. This is a time to either tell the truth – and/or to demand the truth from others. While this might not be the most pleasant thing to face – and could give rise to some painful issues – this honesty will allow you and a situation to begin healing. It will allow you to make new decisions to “cross the threshold” in your life.

The truth will show you the way, Sagittarius. It will help you bridge the distance between where you are and where you really want to be. But you also need to commit to the truth and to the fulfillment of the destiny you wish to create. During this month, you may find yourself moving from something familiar into what may be somewhat unfamiliar territory. So be prepared, and seek guidance when you need help in understanding what gates to open and which ones to leave closed in your life.

CAPRICORN: Guilt / Time (Jack of Clubs)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “You seem to be harboring guilt from the past such as divorce, children, or actions. Seek solution and move on. Learn how to overcome guilt and to forgive yourself. Prayer heals.”

Deck of Shadows: “A sense of the current events and potentially having control over what occurs during that period.” Opportunity – Flow – Immediacy

Combo Meaning for Capricorn: Time is the best healing agent for all kinds of pain or injury, Capricorn. If you are clinging to guilt about something in the past, it is time to let it go and move on. Forgive yourself, pray, and you will find the way toward overcoming guilt or shame that has haunted you and held you back.

Capricorn, you are good enough to move forward – but you have to let yourself get in the flow. Don’t avoid opportunities because of guilt or lack of self-worth that will hold you back. It’s time to let go and move beyond the shadows that guilt may have trapped you in. Set yourself free. There is still time to do it and still time to achieve a goal that you have in mind.

AQUARIUS: Happiness / Love (Four of Hearts)

Wolf Pack Tarot: “Good news from afar. Brings important papers and opportunity. What you started in the past now brings rewards. A culmination of ideas or projects. A time to reflect on your life experiences. Happiness is attained.”

Deck of Shadows: “The deep feelings of intimacy, desire, and attraction for someone or something; a romantic situation.” Arousal – Security – Bliss

Combo Meaning for Aquarius: You’ve really got it going this month, Aquarius! Happiness and love are yours for the taking and enjoying. Relationships may be especially prominent for you at this time – either embarking on a new one or finding happiness, joy, bliss, and security in an established one. Enjoy!

If it’s not love at the center of your personal themes at this time, then know that happiness and security are still there for you in another way – be it work, money, or good health. Let your love light shine, Aquarius! It will work to your advantage this month and bring you much pleasure – whether spending time with the person/people you love, or doing the things you love to do!

PISCES: Carelessness / War (9 of Spades)

Deck of Shadows: “Armed conflict or active struggle with another to end something that is harmful; mortal enemies.” Resolve – Responsibility – Warrior

Combo Meaning for Pisces: Ummm, Pisces, you may want to consider who your enemies are and why they are against you. This is not a time to act in a careless manner or say things that you will regret later – and indeed, you could regret them intensely. What you say at this time could backfire on you – to the point of feeling like you are in a war with others.

Seek to resolve issues and take responsibility for how you have participated in a conflict. It’s okay to be a warrior when you are doing that for the highest good – but it’s not okay when you are hurting yourself and/or others. This is also a time to pay attention to matters of money and taxes. Is everything in order? Or do you need to rectify a “disorganized” situation? You’ve got your work cut out for you this month, Pisces, so if you would rather enjoy a reward versus a consequence . . . it’s time to get busy, resolve issues, and make the rewards happen.
