Each week, I pull a card from a random Tarot deck to bring us a message or piece of wisdom that we can think about or use in our lives on some level – if not now, we can refer back to it when it seems to be more fitting for us.  This is food for thought, and not drawn for any one particular person or situation.

For this week’s message, I have drawn from the tarot deck called “The Star That Never Walks Around.”  This deck is by Stella Bennett and was published in 2002.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

Three of ButterfliesThree of Butterflies (Swords)
From the “Star that Never Walks Around” book, page 168:  “Morning Star looks down from his sky home in sorrow at his wife and child.  He had to send them both back to their Earth home because his wife chose to disobey him and his parents, Sun and Moon.  This card signifies a sad time for families and discord or lack of harmony.”

Now with that said, the 3 of Butterflies doesn’t mean that every single one of us is going to have a sorrowful week.  Keep in mind that this is a general card that cannot possibly fit every single person.

So if you are fortunate not to be on the receiving end of this energy’s sadness and heartbreak, you may know someone else who is dealing with arguments, upset, separations, break-ups, or family problems.  It can even relate to something troubling that you hear on the news that brings out a great deal of emotion and thought within yourself.

The message of the 3 of Butterflies is that the only way through your pain is to acknowledge it.  While it probably isn’t much of a consolation prize to see that things are out in the open with this energy, there is opportunity to heal and find peace when difficult things are all laid out on the table and are no longer hidden in a deceptive way.

It’s true that it doesn’t feel peaceful when sadness hits so close to home.  This is an energy that can create severance or feelings of distance and rejection.  But what you learn from this experience is illuminating.  The truth cuts straight through lies and deception, and in some cases, the truth can hurt.  But it must be faced when that truth is being revealed.  You can work with the truth a lot more easily than you can work with lies, betrayal, or dishonesty.

So even if you have been betrayed in some way, things have a way of getting themselves out into the open.  The air can be cleared with this kind of illuminating truth.  And from this point, you can begin the process of healing and repair in whatever ways that you need to do on a personal level.

With the 3 of Butterflies, there is also a lesson that we can all can benefit from if we choose to heed this card’s wise advice.  This lesson is that truthful and honest behavior is the best way to live our lives.  Sometimes honesty from the very start is the factor that can prevent a lot of this 3 of Butterflies pain in the first place!

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel
