Each week, I pull a card from a random Tarot deck to bring us a message or piece of wisdom that we can think about or use in our lives on some level – if not now, we can refer back to it when it seems to be more fitting for us.  This is food for thought, and not drawn for any one particular person or situation.

For this week’s message, I have drawn from the Animals Divine Tarot deck.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

5 of Cups - Animals Divine Tarot5 of Cups (Alligator)
In this card, the alligator is shown in a murky, moss-covered body of water as he tries to reach the cups on the surface.  This portrays disillusionment and the feeling of being trapped in regret.  Things aren’t always what they appear to be on the surface.   The alligator is uncertain of which direction he should go in order to find resolution to an emotionally difficult challenge or change.

This week, we may experience the dilemma of this alligator in some way.  Emotional issues may come to the surface.  Things may seem murky, confused, and uncertain.

Some of your “cups” in life may be spilled, but look at what still remains.  Look at what is left which you can use to build upon for the future.  It may feel like something is hopeless or that all is lost, but that’s not necessarily true!  Yes, something may very well bring about some uncomfortable or disorienting change in your life.  But now it’s a matter of using what you still have available to find your way once again.

On page 103-104 of the Animals Divine book, we are told:  “Life may not always be what it seems.  The alligator reminds us to look carefully at the dichotomous nature of our emotional lives and try to follow our instincts when confronting unexpected changes.  As an ancient creature, it has acquired a good facility of primeval instinct and will rely on patience as a means of survival.  We, too, need to exercise patience and proceed through negative situations as carefully and thoughtfully as possible.  It is important not to crumble under emotional duress, which can lead to poor choices.  Instead, channel the negative energy in a manner that will enable you to overcome these temporary obstacles in your life.”

May this week show you how to carefully navigate the uncertain waters of your life.  And may you find the ability and desire to turn disappointments into something happier.  Be patient, and things will clear up.  Fives are a temporary energy in the Tarot, so whatever you are going through is not likely to last for a long period of times.  Have faith!

Many Blessings,

Velvet Angel

Are you feeling like the alligator in this card?  Despite an emotionally difficult matter, are you seeing the possibility of hope that can emerge once the murkiness begins to clear away?
