Haunted House Tarot Spread

Do you ever feel halted, uncertain, stagnant, or even fearful about your efforts and endeavors to be successful?  Do you need to enlighten yourself on how and what to improve in order to expand upon an important area of your life?

Maybe you are concerned about career endeavors . . . or maybe there is a relationship situation that hangs you up.  Maybe there is a money situation that you need some light shed on.

This spread can be used for a variety of life issues.  And if you can identify the source of the problem and have a clear understanding about what you need to do to move forward or enjoy greater success . . . then this situation doesn’t have to be like a “haunted house” for you anymore.  Face the haunts of your situation and create a stronger “house” or foundation for whatever you want to improve in your life.

The cards of this spread are laid out per the diagram above.  I chose to lay them out in a square pattern, but you can get creative in any way you like if this layout diagram doesn’t work for you.

Card 1:  Haunted House Entrance
The situation or the foundation upon which your situation rests.  Can point to why you chose this particular “house” (direction) for your life.

Card 2:  Squeaky Door
Where you’re rusty; what to work on; what needs “oiled” to perfection.
–If you get a positive card here, you may have an asset, skill, or talent that is already useful but needs to be recognized, defined, enhanced, and used

Card 3:  Skull
What you are focused on or thinking about.  What’s weighing on your mind.

Card 4:  Vampire
Who or what sucks the life out of you?
– Is it too many work hours, people that try to “bite” you and bring you down, or some other stress you deal with?  What drains you?
–If you get a positive card here, perhaps you are trying to live up to an expectation that is higher than you are currently able to reach or access.  You may have mighty goals, but need to remember that it’s okay to take some baby steps to get where you want to be.  Or a positive card can simply point to what drains you — for example, if you got the 2 of Cups, maybe you find that a relationship drains you, even if the relationship is not necessarily “bad.”  Or maybe the relationship is interfering with another goal you’re trying to accomplish.  Play around with this and see what you come up with that is meaningful and applicable to your own situation.

Card 5:  Staircase
What (or who) can help you rise above in your situation.  What will give you a stronger foundation?
–Can point to a problem that needs repaired, or something that can help you on your path.

Card 6:  Spider Web
What to watch out for that can be an obstacle, what may entangle you, or what might hold you back or delay you from moving forward

Card 7:  Flashlight
Advice to light your path to get through the maze of this “haunted house” situation.

Card 8:  Haunted House Exit
The outcome, once you have worked on this maze in your life.
– Can you reach for success?  Or is there yet another trap door waiting for you?
