WICKED WITCH TAROT SPREAD

by Velvet Angel

The “Wicked Witch” of this Tarot spread represents the bullies we encounter in life — antagonists, overbearing or dominant individuals, tyrants, or anyone who seems to attack us in some way without provocation.  The person in question might very well rhyme with the word “witch.” (But I didn’t think it would be appropriate to name the spread that!)  LOL!  It could be a hard-headed, impatient boss who never seems to appreciate what you do; it could be a friend who is getting on your last nerve and won’t let you be; it could be a family member who hounds you constantly; it could be someone who is insecure of himself/herself and jealous of what you are doing; or it could be a coworker or associate that acts rude, hateful, and domineering.

Who is unnecessarily dissing you, slandering you, or purposefully causing you problems?

Some people may have insecurities, self-esteem issues, or just plain jealousy that come out as inappropriate and immature behavior in their conduct with others.  While we often hear about the school bullies, unfortunately the “bullies” or the “wicked witches” of our world don’t always end with school.  Everyone understands what a bully is all about.  But why is the “wicked witch” of your life behaving in the way that he/she does?  What’s brewing in this person’s cauldron to make them act in mean, ugly, spiteful ways?  Why do they behave like such a tyrant?

Why are they like the arrogant, gloating bully in the 5 of Swords of the Tarot!?!?

If you would like to gain an understanding of the “wicked witch” that has disrupted and upset your life, try this spread and see if you can gain some insight into the situation.  See what there is to learn from the experience.

The cards of this spread are laid out per the diagram above.  It’s supposed to resemble a witch’s hat.  But you can lay out the cards in any fashion that you want.

Card 1: How the “wicked witch” of your life defines himself/herself.
–Are they aware of how mean-spirited they are?  Or do they think they are great?  Maybe they look at themselves as a victim in life and are fighting back with the wrong individuals.

Card 2: How the “wicked witch” defines you.
–Are you an easy target who is weak?  Or are you a challenge to this person?  How does this person, bully, or “witch” perceive you?

Card 3: How this person acts with other people.
–Do they wear a different mask with most other people?  Or is this bullying, tyrannical behavior typical of them overall?

Card 4: What prompted him/her to act the way he/she did toward you?

Card 5 & 6: What can you do about it?
Read the cards as a pair, or look at two possible options for what to do.

Card 7: How the “wicked witch” may react or respond to what you do (or what you don’t do).

Card 8: The lesson of this experience with the wicked witch of your life.
–What you are meant to learn from this?

“Never be bullied into silence. Never allow yourself to be made a victim.
Accept no one’s definition of your life, but define yourself.” ~ Harvey S. Firestone
