Each week, I will pull a card from a random oracle or Tarot deck to bring us a message or piece of wisdom that we can think about or use in our lives on some level – if not now, we can refer back to it when it seems to be more fitting for us. This is food for thought, and not drawn for any one particular person or situation.

Queen of Rods
The Queen of Rods encourages you to be yourself – and to be true to yourself. Know exactly what you want and where you are going. Bring out the clever, successful, and independent sides of your nature. This week, even if you feel there is no one you can count on . . . you CAN count on yourself! You should rely on yourself and your own independence first and foremost this week. As you put forth your best efforts, you can also inspire others through the example you set.
It’s time to nurture your self-confidence and ambition. Follow your hunches about the direction you should take this week. Stand by the decisions you are making, and don’t let opposing or competitive forces overwhelm you. When you stand up for yourself and what you know to be true, you are setting an example that can help others do the same thing when they need to be a little more assertive and confident about things.
If you are in need of encouragement, but can’t seem to find an encouraging influence in the people that you are surrounded by at this time, the Queen of Wands suggests that you write down the wisdom of your own encouragement and put that note to yourself in several places around the house (or your desk) where you can see it wherever you look. Take a moment to read it and truly absorb the words that you write. Say it aloud. Self-motivation is a wonderful asset of this Queen, and if you’re willing, you do have the power to motivate yourself and to pull this kind of strength from within whenever you need it.
This is a time to get in touch with who you are and to allow your most trustworthy and honorable self to come forward. It’s a time to act on your visions in accordance with your own truths and beliefs. This can also be a time to support the worthy goals and ambitions of others, as well as your own. You may have opportunity to be an example for others to follow in the conduct of your attitudes, methods, and approaches. You may find new directions or avenues of progress emerging in your life . . . and the opportunity to achieve an important goal may arise! Take that opportunity and seize it with confidence!
