Each week, I pull a card from a random Tarot deck to bring us a message or piece of wisdom that we can think about or use in our lives on some level – if not now, we can refer back to it when it seems to be more fitting for us.  This is food for thought, and not drawn for any one particular person or situation.

For this week’s message, I have drawn from the Tarot of the Old Path deck.  This deck is by author Howard Rodway and artist Sylvia Gainsford; © 1990 U.S. Games Systems, Inc.

This Week’s Wisdom Message . . .

Two of Swords
2 of Swords - Tarot of the Old PathThis week’s theme relates to conflict and indecision.  And while there may be conflict with another person, it may be more about an internal conflict that you’re fighting within yourself.  A situation may not have much clarity for you at this time.  Things may feel deadlocked or in stalemate.

While a decision is needed to unblock the stalemate, you may be feeling one of those “damned if you do, and damned if you don’t” situations.  You want very much to make the right decision, but you feel uncertain.  And so you may find yourself sitting on the fence and waiting for a possible new solution or alternative to present itself.

In the meantime, you may be struggling to keep your own thoughts balanced in the midst of chaos around you – either literal chaos in your surroundings and/or the mental chaos that makes you feel so stuck.

When faced with a conflicting situation, ask yourself what it is that you might not be seeing?  Do you need to remove the blinders – or as in the case of this image from Tarot of the Old Path, do you need to pull up the helmet to get a better view of the situation in front of you?  What is blocking your view from greater clarity and understanding?  Are you choosing not to take a good look as a way to protect yourself from what you are afraid you may discover?

There is something that needs to be seen and discovered this week, whether you want to face it or not.  And until you acknowledge that piece of the puzzle, things may continue to feel fuzzy and hazy.  Get a second opinion from someone you trust if you don’t feel you can be objective, or if you feel afraid of what truths you might discover.  Get some support to help you find balance and truth.

Avoidance and procrastination may seem like an easy way out of something, but consider that the longer you look away from what needs your attention, the more difficult that situation can become!

Pain, difficulties, or problems will not disappear if you choose to run away from them.  Take this message as an opportunity to work through whatever issues are causing blockages and stalemate in your life.  The only way to find resolution is to face an issue head on.  Confront the matter at hand and walk through it to get to the other side.

Many Blessings,
Velvet Angel
